Im Vergleich zu den Lock-it Tankringen von HEPCO & BECKER, die zusätzlich Magnete zur Zentrierung nutzen, bietet der Basic Tankring eine rein mechanische Verriegelung. Beide Systeme teilen sich denselben modellspezifischen Metallring, unterscheiden sich jedoch in der Art der Verriegelung und den verwendeten Materialien auf dem Ring.

Zu beachten ist, dass Tankrucksäcke und Gegenhalter innerhalb desselben Systems kompatibel sein müssen, um eine korrekte Funktion zu gewährleisten.
