Die Bank selbst sieht original aus, hat aber einen neuen Boden sowie einen leichten Schliff und eine Lackierung erhalten. Der Zahn der Zeit hat ihn auf eine für unseren Geschmack sehr charmante Art und Weise angegriffen.

Abmessungen: B. 60,5 x H. 56 x T. 36 cm. Sitzhöhe 32 cm.

Geschichte: Kaare Klint (1888-1954) gilt als Vater des modernen dänischen Designs. 1924 half er bei der Gründung der Möbelschule der Academy of Fine Arts. Als Dozent und später Professor inspirierte und prägte er eine Generation von Dänemarks prominentesten Möbeldesignern und Architekten, darunter Hans J. Wegner, Mogens Koch, Arne Jacobsen und Poul Kjærholm . Diese sollten später den Weg für das goldene Zeitalter des dänischen Designs ab Anfang der 1940er Jahre ebnen.

Do I love it? Yes. Is it well made? It certainly appears to be. Is the leather thick? Yes, I’d say definitely thick and sturdy. Do I like the color (Bootlegger Brown)? Of course I do, it’s gorgeous. It seems very well made. The corners are secured with black fasteners, which I think are going to better than the buttons in the long run that I’ve seen on others. It’s was this brand, or Hide and Drink for me. I went with these guys because it’s U.S. made, and hopefully American sourced leather. I bought the Large. My concern was that the XL might be too large for my nightstand. I measured it out and everything. However, I was not counting on the length and width to be measured from the end of the pinched corners, so I was a little disappointed about the size of the useable surface area. It’s not a big deal, but I wish that I’d have just spent the extra $5 and got the XL. If I we’re to get another, I definitely go with the XL unless you just want something on the smallish side, but still I suspect that they are larger that what most others are offering. At least these guys give you a choice of options.
