Hintergrund:

Das "Web of Wyrd" ist das Gewebe des Schicksals, das die drei Nornen der nordischen Mythologie weben. Es umfasst sowohl Vergangenheit, als auch Gegenwart und Zukunft: Alles ist untrennbar miteinander verwoben. Darüber hinaus sind in dem Symbol alle Runen des älteren Futhark enthalten.

Auch die Runen im äußeren Ring stellen die 24 Zeichen des sogenannten älteren Futhark dar. Dieses Runenalphabet benutzten die germanischen Stämme bis zum 8. Jahrhundert.
