Introducing the JP Australia Ultimate Wave S-TEC 2026.

WAVE EXCELLENCE IN ULTIMATE TECHNOLOGY

Maximum control, radical turns, and a shape that is uncompromisingly designed for wave performance. The Ultimate Wave stands for pure down-the-line power and offers amazingly early planing for a board in this category. Developed together with our top riders, the Ultimate Wave is lighter, faster, and more precise than ever.

The S TEC construction, introduced last season, remains a real game changer. It makes the boards around 500 grams lighter than previous generations, and you can feel the difference in every session.

We achieve this weight reduction through:

  • No varnish

  • Less anti-slip only in the standing area

  • Smaller pads – less EVA and less glue

  • Omitting the rear center fin box

  • Optimized hand lamination with separately prepared fibers

Despite the lower weight, durability is fully maintained as the previous Innegra material has been replaced by high-quality S Glass combined with biax carbon reinforcements and UD carbon under the high-density PVC. In addition, the bottom laminate now runs over the rails instead of ending at the tuck line. Together with the overlapping deck laminate, this creates an additional stringer along the rails, which also provides greater stiffness and robustness.

This construction not only looks extremely clean, it also delivers a completely new riding experience. Less weight makes the board livelier, more agile, and more direct.

The ultimate windsurfing experience is pure down-the-line wave riding, and that's exactly what the Ultimate Wave line is built for. Each generation has been further refined, and previous models have won the IWT Wave Tour and dominated the Aloha Classic, among other competitions. The new boards take it one step further, and we expect to see them even more successful in competition. Whether you win or not, these boards guarantee an incredible riding experience and noticeably improve your wave performance – from mediocre days to epic conditions.

Feedback from the pros who use their Magic Wave boards on tour was a key component in the development of this shape. We wanted to bring more liveliness and agility to our down-the-line shapes to create an even more engaging and reliable ride for advanced wave riders.

Shaper Werner Gnigler achieved this by combining the Magic Wave swallow tail with the Ultimate Wave nose. The result is a board that allows you to ride more vertically and enables lip hits with more control and confidence. These hybrid shapes are really fun and remain stable even in big waves.

One of the most important shape characteristics is the straight scoop rocker line in the middle of the board combined with significantly more bottom curve on the rails. Added to this is a clever vee development that starts with a moderate vee in the nose area, transitions into a single concave between the straps, and ends in a slight vee again in the tail. This provides early planing, plenty of speed, and a powerful, controlled, and radical surfing feel.

The smooth outline and thin, soft rails transition into a precise swallow tail—a must for maximum grip in high-speed turns and ultimate acceleration in tight turns on smaller waves.

The fin box and standing positions are slightly further back than before, allowing you to control turns with your front or back foot at any time and adjust your line flexibly. This not only increases control but also opens up completely new possibilities for radical maneuvers – from small to huge waves.

QUAD FIN BOXES / NO FIN
Efficient and economical. Starting in 2026, the boards will come with four slot boxes for a quad setup. The side boxes are shorter for better performance. The rarely used middle box has been omitted for weight and cost reasons. Most wave specialists have their own preferred Fins anyway. This allows us to offer the board at a lower price and make it lighter.

A good birds-eye view book.
Format: Paperback
I own the print version of this book, and am using it to teach a high school class on Godot. What I like: it's accessible and descriptive. The explanations in the later book of why the author is doing something are pretty good. They are written in plain English and most of the reasoning for why some things are being done are explained. What I don't like: the print quality *is* dark, but I'm not sure what you can do about that given that most of Godot is using a dark UI and the book is in black and white. I found it legible, most of the time, but there were moments I had to decipher it from context. Also, I think the initial scripting section is light on details and almost pointless from an educational standpoint. It shows the reader what is going on in normal GDScript, but does not take them through any exercises. The programming aspect of the book is better explained in later chapters, but I think for true beginners the scripting section should be reworked. Overall, I will use it but will supplement it for students. For personal use: if you have basic Godot knowledge this will probably not add too much to your abilities. If you are new to gamedev this is a good way to pick up the flow quickly, even though there is not a lot of depth.

Very poor print quality
Format: Paperback
The contrast is so low on the images that in many cases they are nearly illegible. There are many sentences which are similar to "by clicking on the [illegible text/icon] button, you can...". Not helpful. "If you look at Figure 2-14 you can see the output...". No, no I can't. Maybe the eBook version is better, but the print version is very poor quality.

A Must-Read for Anyone Building (or Rebuilding) a Community—from the Ground Up or Within a Studio
Format: Paperback
Mastering Community Management by Victoria Tran is easily one of the most approachable, grounded, and genuinely helpful books I’ve read on the subject. It’s not weighed down by corporate jargon or vague motivational fluff. Instead, it reads like a knowledgeable friend sitting beside you, walking you through what community actually is and what it isn’t. As a small indie developer trying to revitalize my own brand and reconnect with my community after a long absence, this book hit at exactly the right time. It gave me not only strategies, but the right questions to ask myself about the kind of experience I want to create. Too many resources focus on surface-level tactics—Victoria goes deeper. She invites you to reflect on your values, your voice, and your long-term goals, then gives you tools to act on them. One of the strongest aspects of this book is how clearly it distinguishes community management from marketing, social media, PR, and other often-blurred roles. If you’ve ever struggled to explain the value of community work to stakeholders or collaborators, this book gives you the language, examples, and frameworks to make your case with clarity and confidence. It’s also deeply aware of the wide range of contexts in which community work happens. Tran never assumes you're working with a massive team or unlimited resources. Whether you're part of a AAA studio, a two-person indie dev team, a hobbyist group, or something in between, the book respects those differences and offers flexible, practical guidance that can be scaled or remixed to fit your needs. The book is packed with real-world examples and thoughtful exercises that walk you through both practical strategies and big-picture thinking. You’re not just handed advice—you’re invited to work through your own approach using templates, prompts, and reflection activities that are grounded in real experience. Every chapter is dense with insights that are critical for new developers and also thought-provoking for those who’ve been in the industry a while. And while the book is focused on video game communities, its frameworks feel highly adaptable. As someone also working in the tabletop space, I found that many of the ideas translated beautifully—especially in a field where so much success is driven by small, tight-knit communities and word-of-mouth engagement. For those of us wearing multiple hats—dev, marketer, moderator, cheerleader—this is the kind of resource you’ll return to again and again. Whether you're just starting out or trying to rebuild trust and engagement, Mastering Community Management provides clarity and care in equal measure. It’s clear, it’s kind, and it’s deeply useful. Buy it for yourself, your team, and anyone who still thinks community is “just Discord.”
