Cartagena von Ravensburger ist ein packendes Gesellschaftsspiel, bei dem die Spieler als Piraten eine abenteuerliche Flucht aus der Festung Cartagena antreten. Ziel ist es, alle eigenen Piraten durch einen variablen Pfad aus Dschungel- und Tunneltafeln zum rettenden Boot auf der Insel Tortuga zu führen.

Das Spiel kombiniert strategische Planung mit taktischem Kartenspiel: Die Spieler wählen in ihren Zügen, ob sie ihre Piraten vorwärts zu freien Feldern bewegen oder rückwärts ziehen, um neue Karten nachzuziehen. Dabei gilt es, geschickt mit den Symbolen auf den Ausrüstungs- und Bewegungskarten umzugehen und andere Spieler durch Blockaden zu behindern. Der variable Aufbau des Pfades sorgt bei jedem Spieleabend für Abwechslung und erhöht den Wiederspielwert.
