Die OLLECH & WAJS OW P-104 stammt aus einer Zeit, in der sich Flieger, Ingenieure und Navigatoren auf ihre Uhren verließen, um komplexe Berechnungen am Boden und in der Luft durchzuführen. Sie basiert nicht auf einer einzelnen OW-Referenz, sondern ist von einer Reihe von Fliegerschieberuhren inspiriert, die von Ollech & Wajs in den 1960er und 70er Jahren hergestellt wurden. Die P-104 S wurde mit Blick auf die heutigen Militär- und Berufspiloten entwickelt und ist mit einem kreisförmigen Rechenschieber ausgestattet, mit dem sich Differenzgeschwindigkeit, Entfernung, Distanz und andere Daten bestimmen lassen.

Das Zifferblatt des P-104 ist so konfiguriert und gestaltet, dass es an Cockpit-Kontrolltafeln erinnert. Die übergroßen Indexe und die karierten Zeiger sind mit orangefarbener Super-LumiNova® beschichtet, um maximale Ablesbarkeit zu gewährleisten.

Sein robustes mechanisches Uhrwerk ETA 2824-2 OW3, das in fünf Positionen justiert wurde, macht den P-104 zu einem zuverlässigen Navigationsinstrument für hochfliegende Piloten. Die Hauptplatine des Uhrwerks ist mit "Ollech & Wajs Zurich 1956" graviert und mit unserem eigenen, gefrästen Rotor ausgestattet, der das berühmte OW-Propeller-Monogramm trägt.

Im Einklang mit dem langjährigen Ruf von Ollech & Wajs für extreme Wasserbeständigkeit verfügt der P-104 über eine Tieftauchfähigkeit von 300 m / 30 ATM – beeindruckend für eine Taucheruhr, geschweige denn für eine Pilotenuhr. Die Uhr wird in Haute-Sorne im Schweizer Jura, in der historischen Werkstatt, die OW seit über 60 Jahren dient, montiert und eingestellt.

Der P-104 S wird mit dem OW S-Typ Mark II Reiskorn-Edelstahlarmband geliefert. Dieses Armband wurde von früheren Ollech & Wajs Modellen der 1960er Jahre inspiriert. Die Glieder werden einzeln aus einem massiven Block aus 316L-Edelstahl gefräst, bevor sie von Hand sorgfältig gebürstet und verschraubt werden. Dieser Prozess verhindert das übliche Dehnen, das bei gepressten Stahlarmbändern üblich ist, und sorgt sowohl für Langlebigkeit als auch für Komfort beim Tragen. Die doppelt verriegelte Faltschließe des Armbands verhindert ein versehentliches Öffnen.

Der P-104 wird mit einem hochwertigen, äußerst haltbaren und wasserabweisenden NATO-Armband im RAF-Regimentstil geliefert. Alternativ gibt es ein 20 mm breites, italienisches schwarzes Lederarmband mit natürlichem Leinen, das mit einer weichen, hellbraunen Unterseite gefüttert und mit dem OW-Emblem geprägt ist. Sowohl Armband als auch Band werden in der Schweiz handgefertigt und sind mit einer gebürsteten Edelstahldornschließe, signiert "OWZ 1956", ausgestattet.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
