Anfangs widmete sich der Künstler hauptsächlich dem Medium Film, arbeitete als Assistent des Regisseurs Derek Jarman und machte sich mit experimentellen Kurzfilmen einen Namen. Seit den 1990er-Jahren traten zum filmischen Werk installative Arbeiten, in denen sich so unterschiedliche Elemente wie philosophische Texte, Spiegel, Neonlicht, Feuerwerkskörper und Pflanzen zu vielschichtigen visuellen Erscheinungen verdichten.Mit instruktiven Essays sowie nahezu 200 Abbildungen seiner skulpturalen Installationen, Filmprojektionen, Neon- und Wandtexten, Morsecode- und Soundarbeiten bietet der Band einen repräsentativen Querschnitt durch das Werk des Künstlers, das sich als eine Phänomenologie der Sprache, Zeit und Wahrnehmung lesen lässt.

I bought this book to replace a compact-version because the font was too small for my eyes. This one is larger in font and has a bit more info. per entry than the compact one. The paper quality is pretty good as well. I recommend it as a resource to have with your desk reference collection.
