Mit der Idee, sich selbst als »lebende Skulpturen« zum Material ihrer Werke zu machen, erweiterten sie den Skulpturenbegriff der späten 1960er-Jahre.
Anlässlich ihrer großen Einzelausstellung gaben Gilbert & George eine exklusive Sonderedition heraus. Einmal mehr wird hier das Londoner East End, bevorzugter Arbeitsort der Künstler, mit seiner von Backstein geprägten Architektur zum Zentrum des Werkes. Die Künstler treten in ihren Anzügen posierend reliefartig aus der Backsteinwand hervor.
