For this album debut by Black Flower, the Ethio-jazz project of and around saxophonist Nathan Daems, fans were already waiting since heard the five tracks on their self-titled EP from 2013. For Abyssinia Afterlife, Daems drew inspiration from the legend of Prester John (see also Tommy T's The Prester John Sessions (2009) and be sure to read the crazy story behind the album on Black Flower's website) and that resulted in an album that sounds like a feverish LSD-trip through the streets of the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. But Abyssinia Afterlife exceeds the boundaries of Ethio-jazz: in songs like "Upwards" (featuring Smokey Hormel's splendid guitar playing) or "Again I Lost It", Dengue Fever's psychedelic Cambodian rock is not far away and Wouter Haest keyboard sounds are at times reminiscent of the work of The Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek ("I Threw A Lemon At That Girl", together with "Winter" the only song from the EP also featured on Abyssinia Afterlife). Black Flower only serves up eight songs on Abyssinia Afterlife, but with several compositions lasting more than five minutes, this album will certainly not leave you feeling unfulfilled. Perfect fit! Bought as part of a set for a bachelorette trip and they are so comfy. Look exactly like the listing photos. Wore them through a Pilates class and a day of errands with no issues. Love the baby blue color with white contrast binding. Perfect stretch, fabric squat proof (thick enough nothing shows when you bend) and very durable.

Soft, fit, and love the color

I love how soft these are and the grayish-violet color. They seem well made and wash well- especially for the price. You can’t see through them. They are mid weight so they keep you warm enough for air conditioning and Florida cold. Probably not snow worthy or wind strength though. They are true to size if you want them to fit but not cling or act like leggings. They have just enough room. I bought the matching jacket but I’m more thrilled with just the pants. The jacket fits as it should but not over my too many milkshakes stomach.

Acceptable product. Good fit and fabric feels nice. A little see through if you squat and have on dark or patterned under pants but if you wear undies that are your skin color, there’s no issue at all. I wish they came in a length that was just past the calf. These are a little long to be on my top go to legging for yoga. Minus one star due to lack of length options.
