As a carbon material with unique structure and excellent properties, hollow carbon spheres are prepared by various methods, mainly including template method, sol-gel method, self-assembly method and so on. The template method is one of the most commonly used methods for preparing hollow carbon spheres. In this method, a suitable template is selected, a carbon source is coated on the surface of the template, a carbon shell layer is formed through carbonisation, and finally the template is removed to obtain hollow carbon spheres. The advantages of the template method are that the size and shape of the hollow carbon spheres can be precisely controlled and the process is relatively simple.
