Black phosphorus is an allotrope of phosphorus with a layered structure, capable of existing in a single or multilayer state. Its unique bandgap properties make it valuable for important applications in the semiconductor field. As a new type of two-dimensional material, it has attracted widespread attention for its unique physical and chemical properties. Black phosphorus not only shows great potential in the field of electronics and photovoltaics, but also shows broad application prospects in the fields of energy and environment.

Polyethylene glycol-modified black phosphorus nanosheets dispersion (PEG-BPNSs) is a product in which black phosphorus nanosheets (BPNSs) are surface-modified by polyethylene glycol (PEG) and then dispersed in a specific solvent.

Enhanced stability: PEG modification can significantly improve the stability of black phosphorus nanosheets and prevent their oxidative degradation in air, thus prolonging the preservation period and use of the product. 

Improved biocompatibility: PEG-modified black phosphorus nanosheets have better biocompatibility and reduced toxicity to cells, providing the possibility of biomedical applications. 

Good dispersibility: the product can be stably dispersed in a variety of polar solvents, which facilitates subsequent experiments and application operations.

Application Fields

Drug delivery: It can be used as a drug carrier to load drug molecules onto modified black phosphorus nanosheets to achieve targeted drug delivery and improve drug treatment effect.

Tumour therapy: Using the photothermal conversion property of black phosphorus nanosheets, heat is generated under near-infrared light irradiation to achieve photothermal therapy of tumours. The modification of polyethylene glycol can improve the safety and effectiveness of treatment. 

Bio-imaging: Due to its good dispersion and biocompatibility, it can be used for imaging in living organisms, such as fluorescence imaging and magnetic resonance imaging. For example, in a study on cancer treatment, researchers used polyethylene glycol-modified black phosphorus nanosheets loaded with anticancer drugs, which were injected intravenously into the body and irradiated with near-infrared light to achieve highly effective treatment of tumours while reducing damage to normal tissues.
