The middle spheres show the eclipse of the moon on the left and an eclipse of a sun on the right. The bottom panel, from left to right, shows the path of totality for the August 2017 solar eclipse. The bottom middle shows the changing appearance of the sun during a partial eclipse. And the bottom right shows various passages of the full moon through the earth's shadow.
