General Maintenance: These plants can be planted in pots, or outdoors in the summer. They are a shrub-like plant and will grow out of pots faster than others. Medium to large planters are ideal. These plants can spread rapidly through seeds in moist conditions, and are considered an invasive species in Florida. They can also be propogated by tip cuttings rooted in your favourite rooting mediumTemperature: These plants love hot, arid climates, and will thrive in hot temperatures. Light: Ruellia can take full sun, and will flower vigorously if placed outside during the summer, they can tolerate medium indirect light, but any blooms it produces will be smaller, and not as vigorous
Watering: Treat these plants like cacti, they can tolerate extreme droughts, and are decently hardy against flooding conditions. Water these plants when 50% of the soil is dry, or every 3-4 weeks, whichever comes first
Soil: These plants prefer to live in well-drained fertile soil, but can tolerate many different soil types so long as their is good drainage
