The lower and middle radius rods on the Can-Am Maverick R take the most abuse out of all the radius rods. The upper radius rods do not see much stress since they are so high on the chassis. The OEM middle and lower radius rods are not high clearance, and tend to wear out the bearings in them fairly quickly on cars that are heavier and/or have aggressive drivers. The OEM lower radius rods are also susceptible to getting bent by hitting things since they are so low to the ground. 

Replace the OEM lower and middle radius rods with a high clearance, Chromoly tubing, heavy duty solution. The Cognito high clearance radius rod kit maximizes the ground clearance available without having to relocate the rear sway bar, since at full compression the middle radius rod is very close to the sway bar mount. 3/4" FK rod ends and uniballs are used, which are the largest that will fit on the inner ends of these radius rods. The middle radius rod outer end is mounted with a hardened stainless taper pin to prevent any unwanted slop which can wallow out a straight hole in the spindle, and this taper pin is upgraded to 14mm stud on the small end of the pin. The larger end of the pin where the radius rod mounts is further supported by a double shear mount that is included in this package.

The lower radius rods are fixed in length as they should be for ease of installation and alignment. The OEM middle radius rods are the toe link and are adjustable in length, and we suspect that Can-Am is aligning these cars at the factory since we see the adjustment of the OEM middle rod varying from stock car to stock car. Therefore the Cognito middle rod, or toe link, is also adjustable and easily done so on the car.

This kit was desert race proven at the 6 day 2024 NORRA 1000 event, without the double shear mount even, with no issues what so ever, and uni-balls that were still in great shape at the end of the 1300 mile event.
