Named a Gift Book for the Discerning New Yorker by The New York Times
In the Shadow of Genius is the newest book by photographer and author Barbara Mensch. The author combines her striking photographs with a powerful first-person narrative. She takes the reader on a unique journey by recalling her experiences living alongside the bridge for more than 30 years, and then by tracing her own curious path to understand the brilliant minds and remarkable lives of those who built it: John, Washington, and Emily Roebling. Many of Mensch's photographs were inspired by her visits to the Roebling archives housed at Rutgers University, where she pieced together through notebooks, diaries, letters, and drawings the seminal locations and events that affected their lives. Following in their footsteps, Mensch traveled to M hlhausen, Germany, the birthplace of John Roebling; to Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, where Roebling established a utopian community in 1831; to Roebling aqueducts and bridges in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York; and to the Civil War battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where Washington Roebling, the son of the famous engineer, valiantly served as a Union soldier. The book begins and ends with Mensch's unique photographs of the Brooklyn Bridge, including never-before-seen images captured deep within the structure. The book creatively fuses contemporary photography with the historical record, giving the reader a new perspective on contemplating the masterwork. Fernanda Perrone, Curator of Special Collections and the Roebling Family Archive at Rutgers University, has contributed a Foreword.Binding Type: Hardcover

Works really well. Great value for less
I'm genuinely impressed with the quality and performance it offers. From the moment I unboxed it, the product felt substantial and well-made, a clear indicator of the high-quality materials used. This is a device that feels like it's built to last.
The performance lives up to the initial impression. The battery life is excellent, easily handling multiple uses without needing a recharge. When it does need power, the dual-charging option—either directly with a cable or through the convenient charging station—is a fantastic feature that adds to its versatility and ease of use. The assortment of included shaver heads and attachments is particularly impressive, offering a wide array of options that will likely satisfy any grooming need.

Great Design, Long Battery Life, and Excellent Performance
I really like this product. It’s nice-looking, well-finished, and pleasant to the touch. It’s very versatile! you can charge it on its stand or plug it directly into the wall if you want to bring it on a trip and skip the stand. I’ve used it several times and only had to recharge it once. the battery lasts a long time. It trims gently without irritation, works well on both body and facial hair, and the waterproof design makes it easy to clean. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and great for quick touch-ups without any hassle. Overall, a very good value for the price.

Excellent quality and looks beautiful
I really loved this product! I’ve already used it twice and it works excellently. The design is beautiful and feels very high-quality. The battery lasts a long time, which is a big plus, and the power is just right.
One of the things I liked most is that it doesn’t hurt at all. I’ve tried other trimmers before that irritated my skin, and this one is very gentle. The size is perfect, compact and easy to pack, making it great for travel.
Even my husband tried it and really liked it, which shows how versatile and well made this device is. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Works Like Described
The color is nice. The device works best when hair is longer or there will be pain. I found it works better when used with a lather.
