Come and use the ancient process of lost wax casting to make a piece of jewellery to treasure forever. In this two hour plus workshop you will be able to explore the properties of the moulding wax and eventually fashion something you would like to have cast.
Initially there will be a chance to browse reference books for inspiration. You can bring along your own sketches or ideas - or just go with the process and let your hands guide you.
I will provide all waxes and tools, show you a few techniques and then we will get our hands on the wax pretty quickly for some play and exploration in a comfortable, friendly and productive atmosphere. You can make either a ring or a pendant piece - extras like chains will be available to purchase.
The cost covers having your piece cast in brass or bronze in Hatton Garden, then finished and polished by me. If you would prefer it cast in silver I can weigh and work out the additional cost. You can either pick up, or arrange for me to post your piece using Special Delivery. They will be ready about two - three weeks later.
Dates for workshops here in my studio in south Suffolk are available to book on this page - more dates will be added later. Links for dates at other locations are below.If you would like me to come to you, let me know - I am happy to travel within Suffolk, Norfolk or London. The workshop is suitable for 6-12 people and all that you need to provide is a table and chairs. I will bring everything else.
