LP version. Emily Fairlight has a proper folk singer's background: a teenage runaway adventurer in Australia and India, a circus school student who once sang naked at a burlesque night on a whim, a female-friendly pornography-free sex toy shop assistant, a barista, and a runner/jack-of-all-trades at a digital visual effects company. With it's New Zealand rural Gothic/Texas borderlands feel, Mother of Gloom is an elusive creature. Ultimately, the prevalence of acoustic guitar and intimate sharing of lived experience through song suggest it is folk music or, as Fairlight self-deprecatingly calls it, "doom-folk". Her vocal style - a powerful quivering vibrato and a stark, haunting tone, teak-hard yet soft as crushed velvet - elicits comparisons to PJ Harvey, Bridget St John, Emmylou Harris, and Cat Power, musicians with distinctive voices and a lyrical ability to conjure a kind of experiential realism, although Mother of Gloom can also hold it's own alongside the storytelling of Will Oldham and soundscapes of Calexico. Each song is a timelessly elegant, at times distressed, vignette, capturing the essence of a place, memory or feeling, framed by a diverse musical palette with space for the imagination left between the sounds. Fairlight lives in Dunedin and has been composing and performing for over a decade. She recorded Mother of Gloom with Doug Walseth at The Cat's Eye Studio in Austin, Texas on her third trip to the USA, aided by local musicians including Cully Symington (Bright Eyes, Okkervil River) and multi-instrumentalist Kullen Fuchs.

Sturdy - Easily Adjustable - Works as Advertised
I modified it to fit a small subwoofer under my desk. I flipped the arms, inverted them and screwed it on to the desk. Not the intended use, but it solved my issue perfectly. It's really sturdy, it'll be perfect for mini PC's.

Flexibility and clean desk space!!!
Bought three of these for my home office. Two for Synology NAS drives and one for a Mac Studio. The size ranges make this the perfect product to get everything off my desk. A little difficult to install with the desk upright so I suggest turning it on its side or over completely. In my case, I have these in sit stand desks which is great.

Decent bracket, Non-beveled screw holes cause complications
The screws that secure the mount to the underside of the desk stick out enough to cause the inner dimensions to change. I had to use the next hole down to increase the size of the bracket to accommodate my device, resulting in a less secure mount than desired. If the holes were beveled so that the screws fit more flush with the mount I'd be able to give it 5 stars. But the inner dimensions are not entirely as advertised due to the screws. Quality is up to standard otherwise, installation is relatively straightforward, price point is fine for a bracket of this size.

Great mount!
Great under desk NAS mount. Adjustable and sturdy, easy to install. Worked well for my Qnap TR-004 four slot DAS. I used 5/64 drill bit for the holes. Since my desk has a rear lip I reused rear stopper bit as a headphone hanger. I bend it slightly to a hook shape.
