Transmitting crucial beats from Burlington, the Vermont-based producers Es-K and Loupo have crafted a smooth, introspective long-player for the Cold Busted label titled Symbiosis. Holland-born Es-K (Essential Knowledge) is known for his monthly Spontaneous Grooves series (where a collection of tracks are created in one sitting) and his vital 2016 album Passages. Fellow VT rhythm wrangler Loupo is also on the rise, with a recent album on the Melody Soul label named Good Company. This collaborative release, Symbiosis, is a brilliant meeting-of-the-minds, blending the styles of these two talents over the course of ten tracks. The result is deep and meaningful as well as groovy and 'headz approved,' showcasing the duo's penchant for envelope pushing in terms of atmosphere, melody, and rhythm. From the opening chords of "Aqua" - reminiscent of expansive works from the likes of Lonnie Linston Smith - Symbiosis sets itself apart in the realm of beat-conscious production projects. Sparkling Rhodes piano, a winding jazz bass line, and an overall pensive vibe lead midway into a funky drum part, which almost seems curiously added as an afterthought. The fusion-istic instrumentation and understated, downbeat rhythm flavor continue throughout Symbiosis, shining on cool cuts like "Road To", the tough, slow motion stepper "Gavel", "TwoTone" with it's jerky beats and film noir attitude, and "CooLit"s cosmic quiet storm meditation. Es-K and Loupo are onto something unique and special, and Symbiosis lays out their fruit of their sonic exploration for all to enjoy.

Disappointed

These were great for about 20 minutes then they stopped squeaking...we have 2 left that I have saved but the other 4 do not squeak anymore...disappointed as my dog loves to squeak things...would not buy these again...My dog is only an 8lb dog too...but he can still play with the balls without the squeak...

Great Value for a ball my dog loves!

I wish these ball were in the subscription program! My dog gets sooo excited by the new ball, but her interest in things lasts for a few days. She kills the squeak within 11minutes, but the squeaker stays in place rather than becoming a chocking or swallow hazard, and she still loves to chew it. Next, we must throw the ball approximately 723 times the first day, possibly 496 times on day 2, and just 3- 4 on day 3, at which point she will chase the ball before hollering "it's over here if you need it," while she checks on the chipmunk den. We currently have 17 of these balls in our yard (because we have given several leftovers to a less discriminating doodle next door). These balls hold up really well, get her extremely active for the first couple of days, and are a much cheaper than doggie daycare (after an active morning with a new ball, she is happy to chew on it and sleep much of the day). I always have these on hand!

Pieces chewed off

My Aussiedoodle loves it. I throw it down the hallway, it bounces crazy, and he chases it. The only complaint is that he can't chew much of the ball part. So now I have to have it put away and brought out for special playtime.

Aggressive chewers have met their match.
Size: 10.5 inch Rubber Flex Tread
We purchased this toy in 2022, it finally broke last night. Four years of rough play with 2 boxers who are aggressive chewers. They would tug together, gnaw on it for hours, and often leave it outside exposed to the elements, but this toy just kept going. It was by far their favorite toy, it kept them busy for hours. I just ordered a replacement. Well worth the money, perfect size. Highly recommend.

Durable, fun, and safe for my dog
Size: 10.5 inch Rubber Flex Tread
I have a 10 month old, 50 lb mutt who has the musculature of a pit bull and the muzzle of a GSD. Buttercup’s favorite past-time is shredding toys into teeny tiny bits, but sometimes those bits don’t come back out of her mouth. She can’t have tennis balls, stuffies, anything with a squeaker, silicone toys, plastic toys, rubber toys with spikes or small appendages, anything with rope, or most chews & bones. She chewed her first and only $8+ XL bully stick like a corn chip. Finding indoor enrichment is a challenge. Buttercup is extremely pleased with this tire tug thingy, it is very ergonomic for both her and me to get a handle on it, it has more movement than any other toy she can safely have, and it’s very durable. After more than a week, there’s only a little bit of tread missing, which is definitely the best-case outcome with a super chewer. I think this is a good alternative to GoNut toys because it’s solid & dense while also a little bit easier & more interesting to play with, and very unlike GoNuts, this Tonka toy is very reasonably priced. I also think this it’s a good size for almost any breed of dog—I could definitely picture a little Boston or Frenchie dangling from one end. Highly recommended!
