This convenient, square steel birding pole accommodates a bluebird or other bird house easily, and its innovative design makes both installation and maintenance simple. A 12.5" long, step in base keeps the bottom pole section stable in your soil. Slide the top section of the unit over the bottom section to increase its height. Two holes near the top of the stand accommodate two screws, allowing you to mount a bird house to this part of the pole without a mounting plate. This top pole section may be removed for maintaining the house, and the black, powder coated finish protects the stand from the elements. I recently read an early copy of this book (Feb 2019). Beating Guns presents a thoughtful view of guns in our country. Seems like a good overview of where we are and how we got there. I appreciate that the views are presented by (fellows) that have held guns, so that they are not an abstract concept but a reality to them. I would hope this book helps people see the issues perhaps with a bit more understanding, and that in turn may lead to dialogue between people to arrive at a less antagonistic situation. This topic is complicated; no one book can possibly cover all the angles and options, yet this book and this approach are a reasonable way to keep people thinking about solutions.

This book is challenging. Mostly because it hurts. It hurts to see statistics. It hurts to see memorials of lives lost that didn't have to be.
