Whole Home Ozone Water Purification Unit

Serious water security for outages, wells and off grid living

When the grid goes down or the town posts another boil notice, you do not want to guess about your water. You want to turn on a tap in your own home and know that what comes out is clean, safe and ready to drink.

This Water Purification Unit gives you that control. It takes the water you already have and treats it like the critical resource it is. Not a countertop gadget. A permanent, hard working part of your home or homestead infrastructure.

Built for real families, not showrooms

If you are a suburban or semi rural homeowner, you have probably already dealt with at least one outage or water scare. Maybe you boiled pots of water on the stove. Maybe you stood in line for bottled water with everyone else. You do not want to do that again.

With this unit in place, your day looks different. The power may be out, the weather may be ugly, but your drinking and cooking water is handled. The kids brush their teeth like normal. You refill the coffee maker without thinking twice. You are not hauling cases of water into the house in the dark.

For off grid homesteaders, this speaks to the part of you that likes knowing exactly how your systems work. You are already managing solar, batteries, a well or cistern, maybe rainwater. This unit slots into that world. It gives you dependable, treated water you can drink with confidence, powered by the setup you already built.

What this unit actually does

At its core, this system takes in source water and delivers clear, clean, alkaline water that is ready for drinking, cooking and daily use.

Inside the cabinet, the water first passes through a 10 micron carbon block filter. That is where sediment, chlorine and a lot of the junk that makes water look cloudy or smell off gets captured. Your water looks better and tastes better right away, and your plumbing and appliances are protected from grit.

Next, the water moves through a calcite filter. This gently raises the pH, turning acidic water into more neutral, alkaline water. If you are on a well that has been hard on fixtures and tastes sharp or metallic, this is where things start to feel smoother and more balanced.

Then the real muscle steps in. The system uses a patented ozone treatment method, protected under U.S. Patent 7,272,947. Ozone is a powerful oxidizer used in serious municipal and commercial systems. Here, it is applied in a controlled way to neutralize bacteria, reduce odors and tackle many organic contaminants. The result is water that does not just look clean, it feels clean.

The unit can purify up to 750 gallons of water, depending on the quality of your source. That is plenty to cover daily drinking and cooking for a household and gives you a strong buffer during emergencies. A professional water test is used to dial this in for your specific well, municipal supply or stored water, so you know exactly what your system is set up to handle.

Designed to integrate with backup power and off grid systems

Power is often the weakest link in a resilience plan, so this unit is built to work with the systems you are already running.

It draws about 265 watts at 80°F and can run on 120 or 230 volt single phase power, or 24 volt DC. In a typical grid tied home, that means it plugs neatly into your existing electrical and can be included in the loads your generator or home battery supports. When your backup power comes on, your water treatment comes on with it.

On an off grid setup, the 24 volt DC option makes it easy to connect to a battery bank. You can schedule purification cycles to run when solar production is strong and let your storage handle the rest. Instead of a little plug in unit that may or may not keep up, you have a dedicated piece of equipment that fits your energy plan.

Built for utility rooms, well houses and pump sheds

This unit is not designed for clean showroom walls. It is designed for the places your real equipment lives.

The cabinet is about 24 inches long, 24 inches high and 12 inches deep, not including mounting feet. That makes it easy to put on a wall in a basement, garage, mechanical room, well house or pump shed without rearranging the whole space.

The enclosure carries an IP66 rating and the display is IP65 NEMA Type 1, which in plain terms means it is sealed against dust and strong water spray. It is made to tolerate the moisture and grit that come with real world water systems. Operating limits from about 55°F to 120°F (-12°C to 49°C) give you a wide usable range for most indoor or sheltered installations.

This is a piece of gear you install once and expect to keep working alongside your pump, pressure tank and other core equipment.

Controls that you do not need a manual to understand

A system can be powerful and still be simple to live with. The front panel is a clear touchscreen, not a row of cryptic buttons.

You can see status at a glance and move through settings like you would on a modern appliance. Purification timing, pump run time and recirculation can all be adjusted, so the unit runs the way your household or homestead actually uses water.

If you want purification to happen at night, you can set that. If your home has heavy daytime usage and you want shorter, more frequent cycles, you can set that too. You are not locked into one pattern that was chosen in a lab somewhere.

Behind the scenes, the system logs data and trend history. Over time, you can see how much water has been treated and how the system behaves. That helps you plan filter changes and understand your real consumption instead of guessing.

There is also a user adjustable filter reminder. You set the expected life based on your water test and actual use, and the unit prompts you when it is time to swap filters. No mental math, no sticky notes on the cabinet.

A Micro USB port allows for future firmware updates, so the controls and software can stay current without changing the hardware.

Installation and setup

This is a serious water treatment system, so installation is typically handled by a professional. The unit is compact, but it needs to be tied into your water line and powered correctly. Many homeowners work with their plumber or well contractor, and off grid customers often loop in their solar or electrical installer as well.

You will also want to plan for a suitable water storage tank if you want a ready reserve of treated water on hand. That way, when the power is out or demand spikes, you have a buffer of clean water sitting in the tank, not just what is in the pipes.

Additional costs for installation and storage tank are separate from the unit itself. It is worth thinking of this as part of a complete water security setup, just like you would with a generator, transfer switch and fuel storage.

Is this the right system for you

This unit makes sense if you see water as part of the same plan that already includes backup power, stored food and a way to keep the house livable when the grid is down.

If you are the person in the family or on the homestead who feels responsible for making sure things still work when everything else is falling apart, this is your kind of equipment. It is built to be a permanent answer, not a temporary fix.

Get your source water tested, size the system properly, and once it is in, water becomes one less thing to worry about when the weather turns or the infrastructure around you has a bad day.

You get to pour a glass straight from your own system, take a sip, and know you are covered.

Size: 36, Color: A-dark Grey
I had to return ( and re order ) because the sizing as most with these non american sizes got me like man others. Fitment was not bad, they are a bit longer than I prefer, however the issue I had was not there. I ordered an xl I believe and the size I got was a 36, a 34 would have likly been a better fit and will try that on my re order. As far as the material goes, they are thin, they are light, and you could use these for anything that has to do with water, even possibly swimming. The design is not bad, they do not feel like something that you would want to be to aggressive in ie. work environment where cuts are prone as these would offer no protection at all. As the sellers title says, ( Outdoor hiking, quick dry, travel cargo shorts, golf fishing etc. ) Leave out the whole tactical thought here. These are not tactical, they do not even need to be considered tactical at all. For those like me who are trying to find a cheaper alternative to expensive clothing for work, etc... these fit the bill, just need to figure out your proper sizing. I normally wear a 34 in pants and shorts which gives me a little room for my concealed carry, and 32 when Im not carrying. So the size 36 that I got would not be a valid option, but the 34 would / should be a more true fit. The material, to me, it felt like and sounded like a light wind suit or windbreaker jacket.. just to give you some sort of comparison.

Nice shorts, great customer service
Three things I like about these shorts: #1 You can see in the picture of the outside of the shorts that there is a black triangle of stretchy material at the corner of the pocket. It allows me to put something a little over-sized into the pocket without the usual uncomfortable tug. #2 You can see in the picture of the shorts turned inside-out that there are three pockets on the left side. The pocket material is thin but really strong. When I travel I like to be able to feel what is in my pockets so I know that I still have what I should--pocket knife, keys, etc. These shorts work well in that aspect. #3 I ordered 4 pair of these shorts in varying sizes for my sons for a family trip this summer. Two of them were not able to try the shorts on until AFTER the the Amazon return policy had expired. The Vcansion Customer Service Department did not let that get in the way of my satisfaction--they made things right when they were not obligated to do so. Kudos to them.

Not so sure Id even give it 1 Star
Size: 36, Color: A-dark Grey
Shorts - since the beginning of time, men have worn shorts. Simple and easy. But no, not here. Lets see how complicated and stupid we can make this. First off, they fit horribly. When you sit down they ride down in the back. Then there is the material. Whatever happened to cotton or some other recognizable fabric? When I walk you can hear a swish noise. 3rd, the belt they give you doesn't even fit the stupid connector. and the final straw is the latch? Cant be simple like a button or snap, its a hook the rotates, so if its not lined up right you have to fight with it to get it lined up right to connect it - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!!? WHY NOT a snap or button - OMG the worst shorts ever. Its like what can we do to really piss people off - well ya did it.

Very good short for my needs
Very good short for my needs. Light and functional for hot Summer days. Not strong enough for working on your yard (I have Carhartt for that). Great for biking, kayaking, hiking and general use. Kind of a slim fit, but the light material makes them very comfortable to wear. I am 6.2 and 200 lbs and usually use 35 waist wrangler jeans, 36W are perfect for me. Great value.

I love these so far. They're really lightweight and unrestrictive. The fabric is a little bit stretchy but also seems really durable. They fit great have plenty of pockets and even come with a nice little belt. Really awesome for the price
