The men on board HMS Terror have every expectation of triumph. As part of the 1845 Franklin Expedition, the first steam-powered vessels ever to search for the legendary Northwest Passage, they are as scientifically supported an enterprise as has ever set forth. As they enter a second summer in the Arctic Circle without a thaw, though, they are stranded in a nightmarish landscape of encroaching ice and darkness. Endlessly cold, with diminishing rations, 126 men fight to survive with poisonous food, a dwindling supply of coal, and ships buckling in the grip of crushing ice. But their real enemy is far more terrifying. There is something out there in the frigid darkness: an unseen predator stalking their ship, a monstrous terror constantly clawing to get in.When the expedition's leader, Sir John Franklin, meets a terrible death, Captain Francis Crozier takes command and leads his surviving crewmen on a last, desperate attempt to flee south across the ice. With them travels an Inuit woman who cannot speak and who may be the key to survival, or the harbinger of their deaths. But as another winter approaches, as scurvy and starvation grow more terrible, and as the terror on the ice stalks them southward, Crozier and his men begin to fear that there is no escape. The Terror swells with the heart-stopping suspense and heroic adventure that have won Dan Simmons praise as "a writer who not only makes big promises but keeps them" (Seattle Post-Intelligencer). With a haunting and constantly surprising story based on actual historical events, The Terror is a novel that will chill you to your core.Binding Type: Paperback

Looks good works great
Item Package Quantity: 1, Color: Silver
This is a nice paper towel holder. I keep it on my counter and it looks great. Its easy to use although I haven't tried it one handed. I like it and I think it was a good price. It was very heavy and works great.

Great and Useful
Item Package Quantity: 1, Color: Silver
This is a great and very functional paper towel holder. It is heavy enough to stay where you put it and the tension arm holds the paper towels really well so that you can actually tear one off with one hand. There is a ring on the top of the holder so, if you have two hands free you could hold on to that for stablizing the holder but it really isn't necessary because it stays in place really well.
The only advise I would give is to be sure that the next paper towel on the roll is a bit past the tension arm so that you don't have to adjust the roll to get the arm to hold the next towel. This is a great invention and I'm so happy that I have found it.

Stable and attractive
Item Package Quantity: 1, Color: Black
Love the black, it matches my kitchen well. Very sturdy, more so than the Simple Human one that the tension arm broke. A very good product.

This paper towel holder works well for holding the roll while you pull off single sheets. It's heavy and sturdy.

Passed (my) test: 4/5
Item Package Quantity: 1, Color: Black
I used to have a paper holder affixed to the wall. Obviously, it was stable but not always delivering the size of paper towel that we expected.
After redoing my kitchen backsplash that I didn’t want to pierce through just yet, i decided to go for an countertop paper towel holder, and i picked this one (in black) Reviews were decent and i liked that it has an “arm” to hold the paper.
So, i put it to the test (see video) Here are my conclusions:
1) Solid built and weighted at the bottom + rubber to prevent the holder from moving around while pulling the paper 👍🏼
2) out of five trials at pulling the paper, i only had one fail (see video) which is still a better ratio than with my wall holder. 👍🏼
3) There are probably cheaper holders on the market, but most of them are not stable and require two hands to pull paper. This one is easy of use with only one hand which is useful while cooking.
4) i like that this holder comes in different colors, to match the kitchen decoration.
5) The hook at the top of the holder is convenient to carry the holder out of the kitchen, to the dining table for example.
