Product Overview

Barium titanate (BaTiO3), with a molecular weight of 233.19, is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and hydrofluoric acid, but insoluble in dilute nitric acid, water, and alkali. The crystal of barium titanate belongs to the typical perovskite structure (AB03), with an ideal structural unit cell, namely a cubic symmetric unit cell. The six oxygen atoms in barium titanate crystals form octahedra, with titanium located at the center of the octahedra and barium in the gaps between the octahedra. As the temperature decreases, the thermal motion of titanium ions also weakens. Above the Curie point (120 ¡ãC, barium titanate is in the cubic phase and belongs to the paraelectric phase. At room temperature, barium titanate belongs to the tetragonal ferroelectric system. The crystal forms of barium titanate are divided into five types: hexagonal phase, cubic phase, tetragonal phase, rhombohedral phase, and rhombohedral phase. Among them, the triclinic, rhombohedral, and tetragonal crystal systems are called ferroelectric crystal systems, which have ferroelectricity. The preparation methods of nanometer barium titanate mainly include sol gel method, hydrothermal method, chemical precipitation method, solid phase method and ultrasonic synthesis method.
