Setting an intention & praying over your candle is a vital part of your candle work. A physical manifestation of your candle spell is called a petition.
- To create a petition, it is ideal to use an unbleached piece of paper and write on it with a pencil.
- Write your full name 9 times across
- Turn the paper 90 degrees.
- Write a short affirmation/intention 9 times across.
- Write/speak in the present tense as if you have already manifested what you're asking for.
- If you are trying to attract/manifest something, fold the paper towards you 5 times. If you are trying to banish/avoid something, fold the paper away from you 5 times.
- Place the petition under the candle while it burns.
Friendly reminder: never blow out your fixed/spell candles. You can use a candle snuffer or cover the candle to put out the flame. For safety, it is recommended to place ritual candles in a bowl of water, as they are meant to burn straight for 7 days.
As with any candle, make sure you have a safe space to burn your candle. Keep away from children and pets.
