Albert Ayler's 1969 album New Grass has been misunderstood from the day of it's release. The album finds Ayler experimenting with soul music and digging back into his R&B roots (he started his career playing saxophone with Chicago bluesman Little Walter), fusing it with the avant-garde free jazz (the one element of the record which garnered consistent praise) and adding the vocals of Rose Marie McCoy, The Soul Singers and Ayler himself. As if predicting the divisiveness of the record to follow, Ayler speaks directly to the listener and explains that New Grass is nothing like his albums before - that it is of 'a different dimension of his life' - in the album opener 'Message from Albert.'New Grass deserves reconsideration, if not for the heavy grooves and surprising arrangements, then for it's bravery in challenging norms of the time; by the '60s, jazz was well-accepted as a uniquely American art form, while soul as a genre was very much still seen as primitive. Ayler melds them together and creates something novel, adventurous, and completely his own. At the time of it's release, despite it's divisive reception, New Grass helped break down the unnecessary walls dividing genres and revealed music's potential freedoms. The album has gone on to influence generations of Jazz, R&B, Funk, Hip Hop, Post Punk, No Wave and unshrinking artists like Pharaoh Sanders, Alice Coltrane, Funkadelic, Jungle Brothers, Red Krayola, Sonic Youth and Mark E. Smith.Third Man Records can't recommend this record highly enough. We are confident that it won't take but one listen for you to understand New Grass is an undeniable healing force.

Fun Interactive Toy That Works as Advertised

I picked this up for my dog and have been pretty happy with it overall. The ball does exactly what it's supposed to do, rolling and bouncing around to keep my dog interested and active.
One thing I noticed right away is that it's a little larger than a standard tennis ball, which may be a consideration depending on the size of your dog. For my dog, the size wasn't an issue and actually made it easier to spot during play. The slightly larger size helped keep it from going under our sofa.
Recharging is simple. The ball opens easily to access the internal charging components, and I appreciate that the manufacturer included a keyed assembly system. The pieces only fit together the correct way, so there's no guessing when putting it back together after charging.
The build quality seems solid, and it has held up well so far. My dog enjoys chasing it around, although like most toys, it doesn't hold his attention forever. Still, it's a nice way to provide some extra stimulation and exercise. Overall, it's a well-designed interactive toy that functions as intended.

Awesome interactive dog toy.

This interactive dog toy is larger than the similar, smaller, older dog toys I used to buy. This ball has about a 1/2 inch layer of what feels like tough rubberized foam. The outer shell is stiff, but soft enough for the dogs to sink their teeth into and carry around. I have a small Boston and a medium mixed breed that both enjoyed playing with the toy. It was quick to charge and the battery seems to last a while. It will automatically turn off after some inactivity to save the battery, but will come back to life if it is nudged. Although, after a 30 minute period of inactivity, it will stay off an you have to unscrew the halves to manually turn it back on again. I wish it would just stay in the sleep phase so the dogs can revisit it the next day and trigger it back on again, instead of it turning off completely. Either way, the toy feels solid and is quality material. It has lasted longer than the multiple other smaller interactive balls I have purchased for my dogs in the past. It is good value for the money and I will purchase more so the dogs don't fight over this one. The included instructions are easy to follow, and it comes with a charging cable as well. I recommend.

Poor design and durability

Product does not stay connected. Very easily comes apart when dog plays with it because he uses his mouth and paws and manages to twist the two halves apart. I want to return it but I do not see that this is an option.
