The first U.S. edition of Vita Sackville-West's intriguing biography on la Grande Mademoiselle, illustrated throughout with the original decorative dustwrapper. Vita Sackville-West's biography on the life of Anne Marie Louise d'Orleans, the Duchesse de Montpensier. Montpensier, also known as 'La Grande Mademoiselle', was the greatest heiress in history, the only daughter of Gaston d'Orleans and Marie de Bourbon. Though she was faced with a string of prestigious proposal, including from Charles II of England, Montpensier declined them all, instead wishing to marry a lower courtier. Her cousin, Louis XIV, refused this engagement, resulting in a scandal at court. As a result, Montpensier died unmarried and childless. Illustrated with sixteen plates. Written by the noted Bloomsbury author Vita Sackville-West, well known today for her friendship and relationship with fellow author, Virginia Woolf. Sackville-West provided the inspiration for Woolf's beloved novel 'Orlando'. Sackville-West was also a noted garden designer at her house Sissinghurst, the garden of which is still celebrated today.

Great Book
In this captivating story, Emily Taylor, a retired war veteran, returns to her Montana hometown to rebuild her life and care for her ailing grandmother. What begins as a fresh start quickly spirals into something far more complex when Emily uncovers a hidden secret that threatens not only the town she loves but the people closest to her. With strong themes of redemption, forgiveness, and determination, the story balances tender emotional moments with high tension and twists that will keep readers engaged. If you enjoy stories about second chances, small-town secrets, and a love that survives against all odds, this novel is a must-read. It’s a compelling mix of romance, mystery, and personal growth that will keep you turning the pages until the very end.

Amazing must read
I was so excited to see this book that I bought it right away. So much is being discovered about the Ethiopian Christian church by today's archeologists proving long history of the church in Ethiopia. There is even much evidence that Jesus Mary and Joseph traveled Ethiopia during their flight to Egypt. Many scholars believe the ark of the covenant is secreted away till the end times here in Ethiopia. So to be able to read their scriptures was most exciting! Everyone needs to get this and read it!

A rare and rich collection
The Ethiopian Bible in English is amazing. It includes so many unique texts like Enoch and Jubilees that you don’t often find in other Bibles. It’s a deep, eye-opening read for anyone curious about different biblical traditions.
