Tactical squads are the mainstay of the Legiones Astartes, and the force by which the Great Crusade has reconquered much of its empire. By the fighting power of thousands of superhuman warriors such as these, armed and armoured for battle in the harshest of environments and the deadliest of war zones, the enemies of Mankind have been crushed repeatedly. Tactical Legionaries are highly flexible, able to attack or defend at will, assault heavily fortified positions, take and hold strategic objectives, or simply slaughter an enemy comprehensively in almost any situation. MKIII Iron Armour is a specialised, up-armoured variant of Mark II plate. In general, wherever Mark II was in heavy use, large stocks of Mark III would invariably be found as well, yet even in those Legions which displayed a predilection for later marks, Iron Armour found use in the role for which it was primarily conceived – that of heavy, frontal assault. Mark III was deployed primarily for ship-to-ship boarding assaults and conflicts which took place in other ‘Zones Mortalis’ such as underground fortress bunkers, the bowels of hive cities or tunnel arcologies.

Important reading for every working woman!
Format: Hardcover
Let me start by saying that this isn't a genre I am normally drawn to. I usually am a fiction reader, but a trusted friend recommended this book so highly that I felt I should give it a chance. I'm so glad I put aside my hesitation, as I really feel this is a book that every woman in the American workforce should read. It is a fascinating primer in how we got where we are, and how much effort it took to gain even our somewhat compromised equality. While the legal issues involved can be a little complex, Thomas does an excellent job of breaking them down into straightforward concepts. I also really appreciated her ability to make the whole process of moving a case up through the Court of Appeals and eventually to the Supreme Court come to life. For those of us who are not in the legal profession, this process can seem mysterious, but this book made it easy to understand. By clearly and patiently laying out the facts of each case, Thomas also gives the reader the opportunity to test their own assumptions and think through the logic of the cases for themselves. For me, it was a fascinating opportunity to weigh my assumptions about my political leanings against my intellectual analysis of the facts, and I often surprised myself. All in all, I think this is an important book, and also a surprisingly accessible and engaging one. You will feel smarter and much more informed after reading it. And if you are a woman, you may well also feel grateful for those brave women (and men) who fought and struggled to make your experience in the workplace fairer.

Like a real-life legal thriller. Especially if you're thrilled by the progress we've made.
Format: Hardcover
This book, while deeply researched and rigorous, is the opposite of legalese. Thomas's vivid, thoughtful, witty storytelling reveals the real (and courageous) people behind the cases that made employment discrimination law what it is today. It shows not just the impact of law on people, but the impact of people on law. These women's struggles (and those of the advocates at their side) are both infuriating and inspiring. (That was me on the subway yelling at the book, alternating between "WHAT THE HELL?!" and "YOU GO, IDA!") Read it on the train, read it on the beach; just read it. I have a zillion friends with spring birthdays, not to mention my mom (who came of working age during this gender-siloed Mad-Men-tastic era) and I'm buying it for every single one.

A serious read about a very relevant, non-fiction topic... not a light hearted read.
Format: Kindle
A serious non-fiction, not a leisurely novel... very detailed, lots of research went into this, and a lot to be learned from reading thru it.. an excellent education of all that leads up to our Supreme Court,... and serious relevance to the 60’s, 70’s, up to now.... for many women.

Entertaining read
Format: Kindle
I wanted to educate myself on some of the issues that are presented in this book. If you're looking for just factual case-law and supreme court decisions this is not the book you're looking for. This book presents the cases in a story and gives a lot of detail about what went on in the lives of the people involved in these lawsuits outside of the courtroom. The only thing that I wish would have been talked about in greater detail would be a more in-depth look at the opinions and reasons from the justices that were not voting in favor of the plaintiffs.
