Libec QH1s Heavy-Duty Broadcast & Cinema Fluid Head System: 150mm Bowl Adapter & Dual PH-15B Pan Handles

In high-end studio broadcasting, live event production, and digital cinema environments, a camera package is only as good as the system supporting it. Large-format camera rigs, prompter systems, talent monitors, and box lenses present a severe mechanical challenge that standard video equipment cannot handle. The Libec QH1s Flat Base Video Head System represents the pinnacle of heavy-duty camera support, specifically engineered to deliver effortless movement and complete control over substantial production configurations.

Featuring a massive payload capacity of 30kg (66.0 lbs), an interchangeable 150mm bowl adapter, and two premium PH-15B extendable pan handles, this studio-tier fluid head serves as an unyielding foundation for broadcast newsrooms, high-profile live streaming, and feature film sets.

Massive 30kg Payload Capacity Built for Studio Prompter Rigs

The Libec QH1s is a purpose-built flagship model optimized for complex, high-payload equipment arrangements. Supporting a safe operational weight threshold of up to 30kg (66 lbs), it easily counteracts the intense front-heavy gravity shift common in studio and field setups. This fluid head is engineered to securely stabilize and manipulate:

  • Large studio teleprompter systems outfitted with heavy dual talent-return monitors.

  • High-end broadcast configurations equipped with compact studio box lenses.

  • Fully rigged digital cinema cameras (including the ARRI ALEXA 35, RED V-Raptor XL, or Sony Venice 2) complete with large anamorphic lenses, matte boxes, and wireless data transmitters.

True Cross-Platform Flexibility: Flat Base & 150mm Bowl Adapter

Versatility is paramount in modern studio environments. The QH1s natively utilizes a robust, industry-standard 4-bolt flat base design. This flat-bottom architecture allows the fluid head to bolt directly onto high-capacity studio pedestals (such as the Libec P1000 or specialized broadcast tracking dollies).

To expand its utility beyond studio floors, this system includes a heavy-duty 150mm bowl adapter (retaining ball base) that mounts securely to the flat base via four integrated screws. This instantly converts the unit into a 150mm ball head, letting you mount the QH1s straight into heavy-duty 150mm bowl tripods for high-end field productions or outdoor sporting events.

Continuous Perfect Counterbalance System with Meter Display

Achieving true balance with an unevenly weighted studio rig is traditionally a trial-and-error process. Libec solves this via their acclaimed Continuous Perfect Counterbalance system.

Rather than utilizing rigid, stepped adjustment dials, the QH1s features a smooth, continuous adjustment knob that can be dialled to the precise center of gravity of your rig (ranging from 9kg to 23kg at a 125mm center-of-gravity height). When properly adjusted, the camera system balances perfectly at any tilt angle—remaining completely motionless the moment you release the pan handles. An integrated physical counterbalance meter allows operators to view their precise settings, making it incredibly simple to replicate the exact same setup on subsequent production days.

Precision Movement via a Multilayered 7-Step Drag System

Capturing smooth, jitter-free pans and tilts under extreme payloads requires advanced internal engineering. The QH1s incorporates a state-of-the-art multilayered metal structure drag system.

Featuring 7 independent steps of drag control for both the pan and tilt axes (plus a zero-drag setting for rapid whip-pans), operators can customize pan-and-tilt resistance with complete precision. This premium fluid dampening eliminates microscopic stutters and sudden jerky movements at the beginning and end of a camera sweep, ensuring pristine broadcast-quality motion.

Dual PH-15B Extendable Telescoping Pan Handles Included

To effectively manage a massive 30kg setup, optimal leverage and control are non-negotiable. This package comes standard with two Libec PH-15B telescoping pan handles, allowing for a full dual-handed studio operation workflow.

  • Telescoping Design: The handles can be extended or collapsed effortlessly, letting you adjust leverage to perfectly accommodate external lens controllers or zoom/focus demands.

  • Rosette Mounting Interface: The handles anchor onto the head via rugged, industry-standard rosettes, allowing for incremental angle micro-adjustments that stay completely locked in place without slipping.

Snap-On/Off Quick Release Sliding Plate System

Time on set is a finite resource. The head utilizes a specialized snap-on/snap-off sliding camera plate mechanism with a massive sliding range of +/- 75mm (+/- 2.9"). Rather than slowly feeding a heavy camera rig from the back of the head, operators can drop the setup straight down from the top. The dual 3/8"-16 mounting screws secure the rig instantly, ensuring quick and safe attachment.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.
