Vinyl LP-only pressing. 2014 release from the Montana Alt-Rock band. Why does everybody make such a big to-do about Mordecai's Montana origins? Hell, it's a place just like any other, just bigger than most. And it's not like the (true) story of them recording in a YMCA bathroom really offers a proper 'big sky' vibe, although it certainly had a more unique aroma than most studios. But on Neil's Generator, things really do open up in a way where the juxtaposition between huge space/not so huge amount of people really makes sense. If the previous LP College Rock formed a friendly union between noisy Swell Maps-ian clatter, post-garage Fall prickliness, and the all-American DIY basement joy of Mike Rep/Tommy Jay, Neil's Generator embodies the same kind of loose, ragged glory perpetrated by the Meat Puppets, Rayne, Dead Moon, and the Velvets staring into a cracked and filthy mirror.

Nice so far.

Comfy. They were tight the first day across the toes but as I've worn them a couple times they are loosening up. The sole is forming to my foot. These are very much like Doc Martin's from the early 2000s. Not sure about quality since I haven't had them for very long.

They are cute but they have a bit of an odd fit that isn’t great for people with narrow feet. They look too dressy to wear with super casual outfits in my opinion. I think the Ugg golden star sandals are much comfier. If you’re wearing these sandals for a really short time they’d be okay. After wearing them around my house for a little while I decided to return them since they started to hurt my feet.
