This book chronicles the history of Halifax Town from its humble beginnings, the highs and lows and everything in between in fascinating detail, as well as profiling all the club's managers, star players, memorable matches, and history of the grounds.

In addition, every game played by both Halifax Town and FC Halifax Town is listed, with season-by-season grids covering the major first-team matches, as are separate lists of every player to have turned out for club.

A second section also covers the formation and first three seasons of FC Halifax Town, thus encapsulating the full 100 years since the original club was formed.

About the Author

Johnny Meynell was born in 1964 and taken to his first Halifax Town match eight years later by his father. He has been a loyal supporter of the club since 1979.

He has at various times been a member of the Supporters' Club and the Halifax Town Supporters' Trust, as well as being a contributor to the matchday programme. He is recognised as Halifax Town's club historian.

He still enjoys playing football and rarely passes up the opportunity to turn out for whoever needs him. In 2006 he lived the dream when he appeared in and scored in a testimonial for then Halifax Town fitness conditioner Tommy Gildert at The Shay.
