Vinyl LP pressing. Following his ambient atmospheric project, Phantom Brickworks, Stephen Wilkinson returns to the path of structured songwriting last explored on 2016's A Mineral Love. Ribbons yields folkloric charm with an organic palette, incorporating a mostly acoustic-led approach exploring '60s and '70s psychedelia, soul, ambient, electronic and field recordings. The songs presented here often rely on melodic lines, like those used in lead single Curls, to define rhythm and groove rather than the definite pulse of percussion. There are however a few exceptions, like the '70s soul inspired Before and the Brazilian-influenced shuffling brushes groove of Old Graffiti. The weaving and overlapping guitar lines in instrumental tracks like Valley Wulf never stray too far from the grain of folk and storytelling with which this album is so cohesively tied together. Tracks such as Ode To A Nuthatch find Wilkinson exploring his signature sound of tape-saturated fingerpicked guitar, but with a melodic and harmonic maturity that makes Ribbons a definite evolution of this unique style.

Disappointed.

This sweater is so comfortable and very soft. It fits well in a flattering, oversized way. But after one wash it is pilled everywhere which makes it look old and shabby. It’s at a price point where I feel compelled to return it.

Super cute, highly recommend

Absolutely love this sweater, I purchased a size small and it fit perfectly. It’s very soft and can be worn with a button up shirt underneath or by itself. It was true to color and was white and black. Just like the picture showed. It’s not super warm by itself, but with a shirt underneath much warmer.

Light, soft sweater

I liked this sweater so much, I bought it in other colors. This review is for the brown sweater, which is a warm brown color. I wear colors in the cool color palette, including cool-toned or ashy browns (see photos for comparison), but decided to keep this sweater to wear in the Fall. Color reminds me of milk chocolate. These are my go-to sweaters! Easy to pop on and wear with jeans or slacks for a put-together look. I normally wear a US Medium, but I returned for a Small. You may want to size down. Sweater is soft and comfortable, quality is great, and the weight is light and perfect for Spring or Fall. They have washed well, and I have dried in the drier for about 10 minutes before removing to finish drying on a rack.

Love it so much!

This is super cute! Beware the ‘beige’ color is very much a white sweater with black stripes so one star gets taken away for that. Go figure. But otherwise super cute. Cropped so beware of that but good quality!
