On a beautiful July morning in 1991, three men gathered in a hotel suite for an informal breakfast and conversation. The discussion ranged widely over events and characters of the past, famous names and fabled accomplishments flowing along with the coffee and juice. Two of them, Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio, were the ultimate symbols of athletic glory for generations of American men. The third man, Fay Vincent, was living a dream, sitting with and asking questions of his boyhood heroes. Fay Vincent never set out to be the commissioner of baseball. He got into the game alongside his good friend A. Bartlett Giamatti, as deputy commissioner, when Giamatti was named to the sport's highest office in 1989. They spent their first spring and summer dealing with Pete Rose's gambling, and Vincent's legal expertise complemented his friend's moral thunder. But that was to be their only season working side by side, as Bart Giamatti's heart gave out just days after the announcement of the Rose suspension. Vincent found himself the only logical candidate to fill a position as guardian of the best interests of the game he loves. In The Last Commissioner: A Baseball Valentine, Vincent takes us along for the ultimate fan's fantasy camp. As commissioner, he got to talk baseball with the likes of Yogi Berra, Larry Doby, Warren Spahn, Ernie Banks, Eddie Lopat, Whitey Ford, and Henry Aaron. He brought his legal training to bear on the delicate issue of whether Roger Clemens uttered the magic word that would justify his being tossed out of a playoff game (and it's not the word you think). He was one of the few outsiders at the annual Hall of Fame banquet for the new inductees and their immortal peers, where he watched, amazed, as Johnny Mize demonstrated to Ralph Kiner his method of hitting an inside pitch -- a piece of advice from forty years past. And he brought equal respect and attention to the greats of the Negro Leagues, listening to the gracefully told stories of Joe Black and Buck O'Neil, slowly learning how Slick Surratt earned his nickname, hearing Jimmie Crutchfield give as good a definition of a well-lived life as we will ever know. Vincent shares these stories and more: his high regard for umpires, instilled in his youth by his father, an NFL official and respected local ump; his close relations with the Bush family, forged in a summer spent working in the oil fields with his schoolmate Bucky Bush, the 41st president's brother (and 43rd president's uncle); his unusual experiences with the relentless George Steinbrenner, including the famous meeting where the Yankees owner was facing a two-year suspension and plea-bargained it down to a lifetime ban. Vincent also gives his candid views on the state of baseball today, firm in his belief that the game will survive its current leadership and even prosper. Through it all, Vincent's deep love of baseball shines through. His most remarkable accomplishment as commissioner may have been to emerge from the office with his fandom intact. The Last Commissioner is truly a valentine to the game, written with the insight and vision that comes from the lofty perch of the ultimate front-row seat.Binding Type: Paperback

Comfortable, relaxed fit semi-dress suit that fits true to size. Don't round up or down in size.
This suit fits true to size. We got the 9-10 size in white/tan for our above average height 7 year old, and the suit was just a little big (te Amazon algorithm recommended 9-10 based on past purchases and timing. He is the large side of his 2nd grade class, despite being one of the youngest, so I would say this suit would start fitting an average 8.5-9 year old boy.
The fabric is a relaxed summer fabric, so good for semi-dress relaxed events. Our tan suit (and from the weathered gray/blue/green images, I assume all of the suits) seems like a casual menswear commercial shoot.
The fabric isn't scratchy and our son said it is comfortable. It includes the picket flower, but I didn't think much of that plastic bloom.

Really cute suit for my son. Worth the price.
Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years, Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years
My son says he likes the color. He is 10 and we ordered the size 10 to 11 however he’s on the smaller side for 10 and he definitely has some room to grow so it will last us a while and it looks a little baggy on them for right now. However, the fabric is good quality. We like that it comes with a pocket square built-in and also the boutonniere for fancy occasions. I think this would be great for a wedding party or other occasions where you’d need more inexpensive but matching suits. Fabric quality reflects the price. The material is ok, but not gonna be an heirloom that’s passed down or anything. In the picture, he had shoved it into his clothes drawers and so it’s all wrinkled, but it actually does look great when it isn’t wrinkly. He’s been wearing this every week to Church on Sunday.

Good quality suit for kids
Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years, Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years
Comfortable, good-quality cotton/linen blend suit for kids.
The suit is lined and he was excited that it has an inner pocket for a pen.
I believe the suit fits true to size. In the photo I'm attaching, the suit is too large. I'll explain. We ordered a size 10-11 years, but my son is 9 years old. The suit size is actually a 150 (cm). My 9 year old son is currently 55 inches tall and weighs #61. His height of 55 inches translates to 140 cm - which explains why this is a little big/roomy on him. The product page has a size chart which translates the sizing in years (e.g. 9-10 years) into centimeters. If you measure your child before your order it will help you know what size to order.
We haven’t ironed ours yet but plan to iron it when he's ready to wear it. We thought about exchanging it for the next size smaller but it's fall right now and this suit will be better for him in the spring/summer.
We were pleased to see that this is a “normal” looking suit. Some of the dressy or fashionable clothes have some quirky or unusual elements to them.
All in all, we’re pleased with this suit.

Summer wedding kids suit
Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years, Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years
Bought this suit for my son in the 10 youth size and honestly was pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price. The navy color looks sharp and dressy without being too stiff or uncomfortable. The material has a little stretch, which helped it fit nicely and made it comfortable for him to move around in.
The adjustable waist was a huge plus, especially for growing kids. It fit true to size overall, though the blazer sleeves were slightly long on my son. The pants had a nice slim look without being too tight. We paired it with white sneakers for a more modern look and it came out adorable.
This would be perfect for weddings, graduations, concerts, communion, school events, or family photos. Overall, very happy with the purchase and would definitely buy again.
