Michael Stearns is a multi-genre music composer and soundtrack designer/producer. His credits include music for Ron Fricke's non-verbal 70MM films 'Chronos', 'Baraka' and 'Samsara (with Lisa Gerrard And Marcello de Francisci)', music for NASA, Laserium, Disney films, HBO, ABC, PBS, BBC, Discovery Channel and James Cameron's 'The Abyss', 'Titanic' and 'Avatar'. Michael works in his studio 'The Guest House', in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 1975, Michael moved from Tucson to Los Angeles to study with Emilie Conrad at the Continuum Studio. Emilie had 'live' music for her 'movement meditation' classes, and Michael began performing with Fred Stofflet, Gary David, and Don Preston. Ancient Leaves (25:43) was Michael's first album, recorded in 1976/77 with a Mini Moog synthesizer and a Finish lap harp (Kantele) onto 4 track tape. To the other instruments, Michael added Emilie chanting, an ascending choir with Susan Harper and Linda Olsen vocalists, Gregorian Chants and a night ambience recorded in the desert outside of Tucson, Arizona, his hometown. It was initially released on LP and cassette. The 'B' side, Elysian E (23:13) was performed with an Arp String Ensemble played through an MXR digital delay, one of the first, then slowed to half speed. To this he added Moog and EML synthesizers, The Beam and his voice.

Holds up pretty well.

Holds up against my velociraptor! Much better than some of the other holey balls that get torn apart quickly. I think this is a great idea to reuse old shoe soles into toys for the heavy chewers like heelers. I would like to see a large ball like 10-12 inch diameter, so they can push and throw it around.

Molly loves her ball!

Soft and easily caught by a rambunctious Border Collie. She loves her ball and points to it with her nose when she's ready for another game of "ball". Easy to throw and easy to clean of slobbers!

Great Strong Chew Toy but not too Hard

Great strong chew toy. It's very strong and does not tear apart like everything else. At the same time it is not hard plastic like the last brown one I ordered that could break my dog's teeth. My dog is a 2 yr old 14 lb Chi mix with a super strong bite. He tore all the stuffies up and even the nylon toy that was supposed to withstand a lot. This is the one toy that could outsmart him. I play fetch with him and it has a nice weird hop due it's shape so it keeps him interested and surprised. It's a bit heavier than other similar toys and I'm guessing bigger dogs would definitely like it too. I'm very pleased after buying so many others that were easily chewed up or too hard.
