Author Mary Bullard, widely regarded as the person most knowledgeable about Cumberland Island, is a descendant of the Carnegie family, Cumberland's last owners before it was acquired by the federal government in 1972 and designated a National Seashore. Bullard's discussion of the Carnegie era on Cumberland is notable for its intimate glimpse into how the family's feelings toward the island bore upon Cumberland's destiny. Bullard draws on more than twenty years of research and travels about the island to describe how water, wind, and the cycles of nature continue to shape it and also how humans have imprinted themselves on the face of Cumberland across time--from the Timuca, Guale, and Mocamo Indians to the subsequent appearances of Spanish, French, African, British, and American inhabitants. Very Bright, Easy to Put Up / Take Down

This light is very bright, and more than meets our needs. In addition, it has a nice easy to use latch that allows you to quickly put it on and take it off. It takes 4 batteries, which is a bit more than most, but given the brightness and number of LEDs, it seems to make sense. So far, we’re beyond thrilled to have such an affordable option that made our patio more usable at night.

Whish it was brighter

It provided some light right underneath, but it does not open up more lighting around. It barely expends to the whole length of the table.

Excellent lighting

Highly recommended!
I actually reordered one because I forgot one night to bring it in, then a severe storm came through and stole the umbrella, turning it upside down in the yard. Water got into the battery bays, so they rusted. I'm sure other connections inside rusted too, because after cleaning the contacts, I could not get the light to work again.
But the reason I purchased a new one is because it looks so classy. Its warm light can be adjusted to three levels just by pressing the On button through the levels. Very simple. The ambiance it provides is lovely!
Next to the On button is the clip that flips open to swing open the light. Place the light around the umbrella pole and snap shut the clip. The light is secured, but you can also slide it up or down to whatever height you prefer. It still remains stable and in place until you move it again.
Until I left my first one out in the rain, the light worked beautifully and reliably, as does its replacement. Battery life is excellent unless you forget to turn off the light. I can't tell you exactly how long they last because inevitably after a few weeks, I do forget to turn it off.
This is an inexpensive and beautiful upgrade to your patio experience. Excellent value, excellent quality, excellent lighting.

Great light, great price!

I'm a Carnivore who does all of my meat and fish cooking outdoors, adjacent to my kitchen. For the winter, I've put up a half-umbrella to keep the rain off of my cooktop. This light rounds out the kitchen by providing GREAT light for my alfresco kitchen. It works like a charm and is easy on the batteries.. I LOVE it!

Good price, easy to install

First, the price is right. It is easy to install. My biggest problem was within a few hours, one of the bulbs already burned out. We are still using it and the rest work great.
