Casino Times, aka Nicholas Church, and Joseph Spencer from London have been betting against the house for close to ten years already, winning big with releases on Wolf Music, Needwant, Omena, and their own Casino Edits label. The pair also hosts the radio show "What's My Derivative?" on Bloop Radio. Since Mireia's big cheeses RSS Disco have been keen to gamble with the Time's music, routinely lighting up dancefloors with it, a loose connection and mutual admiration formed over the years and eventually lead to this fine record here. Casino Times demonstrate their cunning yet natural and flowing sound with two originals: "Rush" and "Kawai". Both tracks are a proper trip of it's own, psychedelic pinball machines that'll catapult you to the further edges of the known sphere. An arpeggiated melody line leads the "Rush", while a rock-solid foundation of hard-hitting drums keep you steady. The melody filters into acidic fringes and a strange voice guides the traveler to the core of this outer-body experience. By intertwining a pulsating E-Bass with sharp percussions and a brazen guitar chords, "Kawai" steers the travels even further out of world's reach. A whole ensemble of sirens and vocal fragments warn of imminent rapture. After this, it'll be hard to return to the mundane.

More intimate
Format: Imitation Leather
If that word "intimate" scares you, or if you get a worldly image in your mind then you are missing out on what God intended. He gave us Jesus so that we could walk in divine intimacy with Him. After all, we are one with Him. If you are after a closer relationship with Him through Jesus and by the Holy Spirit, then this translation will help you get there. Forget the naysayers unless you are just after religion. But if relationship is what you want, then this translation is one of the best out there. Take for example, Psalm 139:5 "You've gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past." WOW! Thank you Lord! What a GREAT God I have and that I get to be friends with. He IS my friend, but also my Lord and Savior. Look at Colossians 1:19,20 "For God is satisfied to have all His fullness dwelling in Christ. And by the blood of his cross, everything in heaven and earth is brought back to himself--back to its original intent, restored to innocence again! " Amazing what He did for us! Back to His original intent! And one more, Romans 5:1 "Our faith in Jesus transfers God's righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One , has done for us. " That makes me want to give glory to Jesus! What a great translation! I love how the author realizes and states "There is no such thing as a truly literal translation of the Bible, for there is not an equivalent language that perfectly conveys the meaning of the biblical text. It must be understood in its original cultural and linguistic settings. This problem is best addressed when we seek to transfer meaning, not merely words, from the original text to the receptor language." Go for it! It will only bring you closer to the One who LOVES you the most. Allow Him to lavish you with love, and then you'll be able to lavish others, undeserving like yourself, with love.

The Word of God - Beautifully Done
Overall: I have been reading the Bible since I could read and this has enriched my understanding. I read this along with ESV daily frequently comparing with NKJV, NIV, NLT, NASB, and WEB. IT IS NOT misleading. Please do your own comparison before following the reviews of others.
This has brought LIFE to me in so many ways. It fully agrees with, substantiates, and fortifies the Good News spoken by Jesus.
Quality: I've used this mid-size brown "leather" copy every day for a year (as of 02-2021), and it's holding up well! See my photos for wear. I toss it in my tote with other bibles and journals, and while it's getting pretty dirty, it's not falling apart.
Size/font: I personally love this size. I have it pictured with an A5 journal for comparison. For someone with good eyesight the font is great. The verse numbers and footnotes are very small. Some of my friends prefer the large print version in order to see more easily.
Pages: The pages are not as thin as other bibles, but not as thick as some. I show the front and back of a page with heavy highlighting. My highlighters are not traditional, they're the Pilot Frixion erasable. Ballpoint pen definitely shows through, but no bleeding.
If you are determined not to like this Bible, then it will be just a book for you. If you are open to reading it side by side with your trusted Bible I KNOW that the Holy Spirit will guide you into new revelation because 1) that's what is promised to us by the Holy Spirit and 2) the Word of God is the Word of God, and is more full of power than any human can mismanage. To tear down the Word of God is dangerous. To allow the Word to transform us through believing it is LIFE!

Good for comparisons
I use this only for a comparison with my other Bibles. It is easily to understand making it great for everyday use. Especially if your have trouble to understand the other versions.

Such an ENJOYMENT to read!
Format: Imitation Leather
I have been so ENJOYING reading this Bible! Being in my early 50s & having read many, many translations with bible concordances, this newer translation has given me a new spark to reading the Word of God & my time with Him. The Bible itself is so beautiful. I'm very appreciative of the large print. I put off purchasing this Bible due to the cost- as if you can put a cost on God, pfft- but I'm SO GLAD I came to my senses & did. I can't wait for the rest of the Bible to be written in this translation so I can read the whole thing in the Passion translation. It's so beautiful!
