Robust enough for the track, Refined enough for the street:

Easily the most capable RSX shifter, the beauty of the ACUiTY 4-Way Adjustable Performance Shifter is due in part to the careful attention to detail and rigorous testing that went into its nearly 1.5-year design process. Shift knob height is adjustable as much as 30mm (1.2") higher or lower than stock, and the knob position can be adjusted within a 52mm (2") circle to help put the shift knob just where you want it. Gear throw and gate spacing are independently adjustable and allow for mild to rather extreme reductions compared to stock (up to 55% shorter throw and 41% narrower gates). The unique linkage design provides a substantial reduction in throw for quick shifts in a form factor that easily fits under the RSX's console (as well as the DC5 Integra console). This shifter's robust design makes it equally at home in a K-swapped vehicle using an RSX transmission. Using the gate and gear adjustments, it's easy to tune the H-pattern spacing of your shifter to your exact liking. In addition, the shifter's frame is built from a careful combination of aluminum and stainless steel to improve the frame's stiffness while being mindful of weight. A large-diameter, aluminum pivot ball in a wear-compensating, spherical race provides smooth shifting with minimal friction and great long-term wear-resistance. Centering is quick, decisive, quiet, and consistent, compliments of a thick, over-wound centering spring and re-engineered spring perches. On top of all this, the spherical joint in the rocker has been heavily upgraded over the OEM design to allow for wear-compensation, to avoid the play that typically develops in the OEM shifter.

What to Expect:

Expect a significantly different and more sporty shifting experience, even when compared to our Stage 1 shifting kit and most similar aftermarket RSX shifters. This is not just another RSX shifter; it was engineered to provide an incredibly satisfying, precise shifting experience. At first, it may take some time to adjust to the extreme reductions in throw and gate spacing, as well as the stiffer centering action, but in a short while, you will find the shifter's precision, short throws, narrow gates and snappy centering making every driving experience an opportunity to put a smile on your face. You will likely find that the improved precision will lead to more confidence in quick shifts and more consistent shifting in general. Because the shifter is made from much stiffer materials than the stock shifter, shifts will feel more rigid, defined, and confidence-inspiring during spirited driving. The discerning driver will notice more feedback from the gearbox compliments of this rigid construction; this can be useful in determining the quality of your footwork on the clutch and shift timing. The exact shifting feel is largely up to you, and we highly suggest you take time tuning the gate spacing and throw to your liking before reinstalling the console. The exact ratio of throw distance to gate spacing is a very personal matter; take advantage of the adjustments to make the H-pattern perfect for you. The joints in Acuity's shifter are carefully designed to be low-friction and very efficient at wear-compensating. This means that your shifter will give you a much longer service life than an OEM shifter before any signs of wear are noticeable.

Saves So Much Time, Perfect Fit On Mercruiser Pre-Alpha Outdrive.
This is a very useful kit. Perfect fit to exchange and align the gimbal bearing on a Mercruiser MR/Pre-Alpha Outdrive. The metal rods are strong and well machined to fit the gimbal bearing and the template lines up great with the housing studs. The overall production quality is very good. Great value because the tools are very durable but for me the biggest value is the time saved. I had the bearing out in about 10 minutes. The ability to line up the bearing before attempting to attach the outdrive upper gear unit is very convenient and saves so much time. This are simple tools, very easy to use.

Works well. You need to drill a 3/8” hole
Appears to be well made, alignment bar slides in nicely. As stated, you need to drill a hole in the bar for the gimble bearing driver, the directions are not clear, what I did was before I take out the old gimble bearing, put an O ring on the bar close to the last step on the bar, slide the bar all the way in, then carefully slide the bar out, this marks the distance from the back of the gimble bearing to where the shaft on the outdrive bottoms out, move the O ring a 1/4” towards the stepped part of the alignment tool (this is so you won’t bottom out the alignment tool when driving the gimble bearing in) then slide the driver puck up to the O ring and use a 3/8” diameter transfer punch through the side hole in the puck to mark the bar. You need to drill a 3/8” diameter hole in the alignment bar, two V blocks, some clamps, and a drill press will make drilling much easier, after the bar is securely mounted and centered in the drill press, use a center drill, then 1/4” drill first, using plenty of oil, drill all the way through, then use the 3/8” drill, deburr both sides and you should be good to go. People complain that it doesn’t come pre-drilled, the reason is that not all out drives are the same so you have to fit it to the outdrive that you have. Fortunately, I have a machine shop at my house and have a jig setup with various drill bushings, but the method I described above should work for you. Just make sure you’re perfectly centered and secure before you start drilling.

Worked for Volvo Penta SX Gimbal Bearing
Very heavy tool, I was surprised. Pulled my bearing like it was nothing. Putting the new bearing in was a little more difficult as you have to drill a hole in the engine alignment shaft where it will work for your particular outdrive. Not hard, but it does not come pre-drilled as the required depth for each particular gimbal bearing differs by manufacturer and model. Measure your bearing placement before removal and check that it was installed correctly in the first place. The bearing should line up with the grease fitting and the o-rings on the drive shaft should end up riding in the middle of the bearing. once you have your measurement drill the hole, I used a drill press. I suppose you could use it on multiple outdrive models as long as you can drill more holes.
