Libec A-20P 8-Pin to 20-Pin Remote Adapter Cable: Seamless Control for Modern Canon Servo Lenses

In professional broadcast television, live studio sets, and high-end cinema environments, equipment ecosystems frequently adapt. While many legacy broadcast controllers utilize industry-standard 8-pin circular connections, modern precision optics—particularly Canon's portable broadcast lenses and cine-servo lenses (such as the CN-E series)—have migrated to high-density 20-pin Hirose connector interfaces to transmit advanced data.

The Libec A-20P is a professional-grade remote adapter cable engineered to solve this exact communication bottleneck. Featuring a high-fidelity 8-pin female to 20-pin male connector configuration, this compact adapter allows operators to bridge the gap, bringing traditional 8-pin zoom controllers natively into modern 20-pin Canon lens architectures.

1. Bridge the Generation Gap: 8-Pin to 20-Pin Protocol

The core functionality of the A-20P is to convert the output signal of an 8-pin control cable into a 20-pin configuration without introducing latency, lag, or electronic creeping.

  • Universal Libec Controller Integration: The cable connects directly to the native outputs of premium Libec compact zoom demands and controllers, including the ZC-8, ZC-20, and ZC-9PRO.

  • Direct Canon Servo Lens Command: On the output side, the heavy-duty 20-pin male interface plugs cleanly into the multi-pin electronic servo block or power zoom adapters (such as the Canon PZ-E2B) attached to the lens. This link maintains all critical metadata communication and proportional speed parameters.

2. Lossless Precision & No-Creep Signal Integrity

Unlike generic third-party wiring adapters that suffer from improper resistance values—causing lenses to suffer from "zoom creeping" or sudden stuttered movements—the Libec A-20P is factory-calibrated. It uses premium internal copper shielding and precision-soldered pins to preserve the variable voltage data sent from your controller's pressure-sensitive thumb rocker. A light touch translates into an identical slow, creeping zoom on the 20-pin lens, while a firm press drives rapid focal tracking.

3. Optimized Compact Ergonomics

  • Tangle-Free Length: Measuring just 7.3 inches (185 mm), the A-20P provides the exact amount of clearance needed to couple your zoom controller's main cable near the base of the fluid head pan handle. This minimal footprint eliminates excess slack, preventing loops that could snag on tripod locking knobs or other on-set equipment.

  • Featherlight Footprint: Weighing a mere 1.4 oz (40 g), the adapter adds virtually zero physical mass to your pan bar or camera gimbal balance setup, preserving the native counterbalance parameters of your fluid head.

4. Built for Rugged Field Operation

Constructed to withstand the rigorous demands of Electronic News Gathering (ENG), sports broadcasting, and outdoor outside broadcast (OB) setups, the A-20P features durable molded strain reliefs at both connection endpoints. The circular multi-pin connectors feature secure twist-lock mechanisms that prevent the cable from accidentally pulling loose mid-broadcast.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
