"Fuck your technique, sound first." -- jaimie branch (1983 - 2022)   Holy moly, I'm pretty darn picky when it comes to jazz (and while often I love when artists get adventurous and all crazy, that's not usually my feelings when it comes to jazz..often when people say it's great jazz because it's really adventurous, I hate it even more...lose the solos and gimme the forward groove or you will lose me so quickly... mostly it's just maximum R&B that I love, whether you call it punk, groove, power pop, funk...it's all the same thing, maximum R&B...pack it into the song and the rhythm, charge it forward and end it quickly) but jaime branch is both adventurous and just completely amazing, offers so much but keeps it packed into the groove, and even when instrumental reflection takes her off the path and into the forests of the mind, when her stories of racism and bullshit must be told, and her flights of fancy fly away like birds from the trees along the way, who am I to gripe when she's clearly got a complete grip on what she's doing. She packs so much history in her music, the knowledge, sounds and lessons of key Black artists of the previous century mixed with hints her own history, playing in ska and punk band as a youth, growing up with hip-hop and Nirvana, and dealing with the issues at hand in the world today and tapping into her Latin American heritage (Colombian on her mother's side) to add that infectious focus of latin american percussion to flavor some of her recipes, coming out of all that and bringing it into her music, which moves far away from her ska and punk beginnings to the places she has to go, to follow the pain and joy wherever it brings her.  She is a sum of her parts and so much more.  She's simply out of sight. -- winch

FLY or DIE II: bird dogs of paradise is the much-anticipated follow-up to composer, trumpeter, and (now) singer jaimie branch's debut Fly or Die, which was dubbed one of the “Best Albums of 2017” by The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, NPR Music, WIRE, Stereogum, Aquarium Drunkard, and more. Written (mostly) while on her first European tour with Fly or Die in November 2018; and recorded (mostly) in studio at Total Refreshment Centre and live at Café OTO in London UK at the end of that tour, bird dogs of paradise is the result of a never-satisfied branch pushing her distinct style of progressive composition to new heights — while also stepping forward as a vocalist for the first time. “So much beauty lies in the abstract of instrumental music,” says branch in the album’s liner notes, “but being this ain’t a particularly beautiful time, I’ve chosen a more literal path. The voice is good for that.” On the album’s epic opening opus “prayer for amerikkka pt.1 and 2” branch calls out “a bunch of wide-eyed racists” between searing trumpet ad libs atop a massive, down-tuned blues. On the album’s closing track “love song (for assholes & clowns)” she laughs in their faces - an unhinged, unflinching, mix of anger and humor paired with a classic shuffle beat. Between both ends is an instrumental chronicle that traverses a deep sea of dystopian Americana without trepidation. Her trumpet – sometimes soft and pleading and other times brash and seething – is always at the helm. Branch and company are on a quest for sonic saturation here and they conjure up moments of real reckoning - hopefulness, hopelessness, danger, and joy. A cinematic sojourn from our earth to imagined worlds above, bird dogs of paradise dares you to feel again, or as branch says, “now sound the trumpets and get ready to roll.” credits released October 11, 2019 FLY or DIE jaimie branch – trumpet, voice, synths, sneaker squeaks, bells & whistles Lester St. Louis – cello, percussion Jason Ajemian – double bass, percussion, vocals Chad Taylor – drums, mbira, xylophone -with special guests- Ben LaMar Gay – voice (on track 2) Marvin Tate – voice (on track 2) Matt Schneider – 12-string guitar (on track 2) Dan Bitney – percussion, synthesizer (on track 8) Scott McNiece – egg (on track 8) All compositions by jaimie branch; except "birds of paradise," "whales," and "bird dogs of paradise" composed by jaimie branch, Lester St. Louis, Jason Ajemian & Chad Taylor; and "lesterlude" composed by Lester St. Louis. Durable squeaky ball for chewers
Color: Blue+Red, Color: Blue+Red
These are great! My 54 lb GSP loves them and it’s the only thing she cannot destroy! She’s currently 1 year and we have had the balls for several months. We have this brand and similar ones too. They float, bounce, and squeak. The ridges are good for chewing.

Great squeaky balls
Color: Blue+Red
Awesome! My super chewers haven’t been able to destroy it. It’s been about 3 months now and it still squeaks and bounces like new! It’s a bit tougher than normal squeaky toys but so worth it for aggressive chewers.

Awesome for hyper dogs
Color: Blue
AWESOME - I have a dog that just won't stop trying to get me to play with him ALL day! I turn this thing on and he goes nuts and tires himself out...without any help from me. The cover got torn off and torn up in minutes but he doesn't care. He just wants this ball. My other dogs, who are older, aren't really interested. But if you have a hyper dog this is the thing for you and them!

Great entertainment, charges quickly!
Color: Orange
Super fun entertainment for dog! Toy ball charges quickly and the charge lasts for at least an hour of playtime for the dog. There are 2 modes. one mode Just lights up, which makes it easy for pet to chase it. The second mode not only lights up, but it also wiggles on the ground Randomly and speeds off in a direction on its own, which really makes it interesting for your dog or cat to follow! Once the ball is not touched for about thirty seconds, it goes dormant and it will stay like that As long as it's charged until somebody touches it, and then it starts up randomly lighting up and moving around the floor on its own And making a vibration noise. It's a lot of fun to watch the dog chase and play with, and it certainly keeps them entertained for a while! The laughs and fun entertainment are definitely worth it. The only downside is that my dog chewed off the soft fabric covering in about twenty minutes. And she's not a real big chewer. It looks better with the covering on it, but even without it, the ball works fine and she plays with it every day.So that is not a showstopper. But good to supervise your dog for safety. In case they are a chewer, and they decide to destroy the cover. But the ball works fine without the cover too!

Looooves her crazy new ball
Color: Orange, Color: Orange
Our 90lb mastiff/boxer mix Indie is very playful, curious and energetic. She needs toys that engage her and keep her busy. This ball does the job! We’ve had it for less than a week. Here’s what I love and what could be better: PROS: • She dog loves it. She whines for it. She gets absurdly excited when I get it out. She’s a bit of an anxious dog, but had zero problems with it inexplicably coming to life. • It lasts a while on a single charge, so it keeps her busy for a good long time. The longest we’ve used it at a stretch is an hour. • It’s pretty durable. She’s a super chewer (destroyed every “non-destructible” toy we’ve purchased for her), but the actual ball is hard plastic. She gnaws on it and it gets scratches, for sure. But she’s not going to chew it to pieces. • On carpet, it’s reasonably quiet. • It comes with a replaceable silicone button. • It’s easy to charge…just pull off the silicone button and the charging port is inside. • The silicone button is flush with the ball’s hard plastic surface, so there’s no way for her to pull the silicone button out and swallow it or get to the charging port. CONS: • Cover is worthless if your dog is a chewer. It goes on like an envelope with a Velcro closure. We took it off immediately. • Without the cover, it’s very noisy on hardwood floors. To us, it’s worth it. (Though, I work from home, so I might feel differently after the holiday vacation.) • She’s an XL dog, so she can fit the whole ball in her mouth easily and accidentally chomp down on the button and turn the ball off. Not a big deal, just something to know if you’ve got a Lab or larger dog. • With extended playtime, the two halves can come unscrewed, especially with a large dog who uses their paws/jaws on it a lot. Thankfully, it makes a loud buzzing noise when this happens, so we know we need to take it from her and screw it back together. Is this a potential danger? With the rechargeable battery inside, I’d say yes. But we also don’t let her play with this toy without supervision. So keep that in mind. Bottom line: It has its drawbacks, but it keeps her entertained and seems like it should last her at least 6 months with supervised play. Which is honestly REALLY good when we’re talking about Indie, Destroyer of Toys. I’d buy it again.
