Wonderful instrumental stunner from San Antonio...side one mostly sounding like a moody mix of texas garage rock, cowboy, desert, exotica, surf, tex-mex and Ennio Morricone...sounding like San Antonio...baking in the sun, dreaming of toes in the ocean...the flipside kicking up the tempo with "The Worm," and treading closer to a freakout 1965 sound...sounding like a soundtrack to a 1960s biker movie by musicians raised on Richie Valens, Jerry Cole and Dick Dale, the American Southwest from Los Angeles, through the Mohave Desert, and into the Texas panhandle, broncos and motorcycles kicking up gravel from the dusty lot of an old drive-in theater dreaming of the Gulf of Mexico. -- winch
