Більшість прапорів — це доволі невигадливі рисунки. Та якщо ви знаєте, чому та чи інша держава обрала певний дизайн прапора, найімовірніше, ви маєте загальне уявлення про історію, географію та культуру цієї країни.Приміром, зірка на прапорі Демократичної Республіки Конґо нагадує нам про те, що Артур Конан Дойл назвав найбільшим злочином проти людства. Орел на прапорі Мексики — про те, як ацтеки принесли в жертву богам доньку вождя сусіднього племені. Зірки на прапорі Тувалу — про дивовижний казус у назві країни.Про автораЗізнаюся, я — не професіональний письменник і не науковець. Заждіть, не закривайте сторінку! Адже певний стосунок до написання текстів я маю. Колись працював журналістом, а зараз я — один із найпопулярніших блоґерів в Україні.За діяльністю я — серійний підприємець. Також недавно працював певний час міністром в українському Кабміні.Захоплення прапорами в мене з'явилося ще в дитинстві, коли тривав чемпіонат світу з футболу 1994 року. Тоді я відпочивав із дідусем і бабусею в Криму, і ми щоночі переглядали прямі трансляції матчів у нашому невеликому готельному номері під горою Аю-Даг.Звідтоді в моєму житті чимало змінилося. Пристрасть до футболу трохи охолола, до Криму наша родина більше їздити не може через окупацію, але інша пристрасть, якої я набув під час того чемпіонату, залишилася зі мною на все життя — це прапори.Я й досі не можу пояснити, чому в мене викликали такі теплі почуття кольорові прямокутники в кутку екрана поряд із рахунком матчу. Адже тоді я не знав, що за кожним із них криється цілий світ, що наука про прапори має назву 'вексилологія'.Одначе про щось я почав здогадуватися вже тоді. У першому матчі між США і Швейцарією я зауважив, що прапор останньої не прямокутний, як в інших, а квадратний (збірна Ватикану в тому чемпіонаті участі чомусь не брала). А в другому матчі між Італією та Ірландією я дивувався схожості їхніх стягів.Свою пристрасть я втілював у життя поступово. Спершу вона виявлялася в тому, що я зберігав у нотатках усілякі цікаві факти про прапори, що траплялися мені на очі. Потім я почав періодично робити пости про прапори у своїх соціальних мережах (на подив своїх 400 000 фоловерів, які підписувалися на мене явно не через це). Потім я створив окремий Telegram-канал 'Прапори з Дмитром Дубілетом'.Ідея написати книгу про прапори в мене з'явилася кілька років тому. Пам'ятаю, як я здивувався, що книги на цю тему представлені лише або довідниками, або виданнями для дітей. Я мав переконання, що таке потрібно виправити, але через брак часу я щоразу це відкладав.І от, нарешті, настала зручна нагода втілити свій задум. З одного боку, наш Кабмін саме відправили у відставку, з іншого — світ охопив коронавірусний локдаун. От і з'явився ідеальний час для написання книги!Два роки праці — і готове видання видано у Yakaboo Publishing! Сподіваюся, я зможу інфікувати своєю вексилологічною пристрастю і вас. SO good !!! (cliffhanger tho…)

This book is so good. It takes place over a shorter period of time than the other ones, but that just allowed everything to have so much more detail. We get three POVs in this one (warner, rosabel, and james) and warners is amazing as always. ALSO the tension between james + rosa this book is insane. it’s perfectly written and sooo romantic and hot. beware tho that it does end on a pretty crazy cliffhanger sooo..
The only thing about this book that i disliked was that it’s slightly shorter than all my other books in this series (not page wise, if you put them next to each other it’s shorter.. see picture). All in all, it’s phenomenal and Tahereh Mafi has done it again!

I preordered this book and it arrived on the day it was released! The binding was not as strong as I prefer, but it is typical for books I ordered from Amazon. The story itself… 5/5! I loved the Warner chapters the most and enjoyed learning more about Jame.

Tahereh Mafi Writes the Most Beautiful Stories!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!!!
Release Me by Tahereh Mafi centers almost entirely on the complicated, intense connection between James and Rosabelle. James is still all in, trying to break through Rosabelle’s walls and get her to open up, while Rosabelle is focused on one goal above everything else: finding a way back home so she can destroy Klaus, help bring down what remains of The Reestablishment, and save her sister. She fully believes in that mission, but she feels trapped within the New Republic, unable to act, which only adds to her frustration and inner conflict.
At the same time, Rosabelle is drawn to James in a way she cannot ignore. He becomes her only sense of safety, the one place where she can let her guard down, even as she fights against that pull. James, on the other hand, is exactly where he wants to be, with her, even as Warner and the rest of his family push back hard against the relationship because of her past. Warner’s perspective adds another layer of tension, especially as he tries to understand Rosabelle and realizes she is the first person he has ever encountered whose emotions he cannot read. As everything builds, the story leans heavily into trust, control, and the push and pull between love, loyalty, and the need to destroy the past.
Tahereh Mafi really just knows how to write a love story that gets under your skin, and this one absolutely did that for me. I am fully, completely in on James and Rosabelle. The emotional intensity between them is unreal, and what makes it hit so hard is that it never feels shallow or forced. They are both so deeply gone for each other, even while Rosabelle is still fighting her own plans, her past, and everything she thinks she has to do. James is steady in the way he wants her, protects her, and keeps reaching for her, and Rosabelle’s pull toward him feels just as powerful. You can feel that these two are not casually circling each other. They are fully in it, whether they want to admit it or not.
What really made this book a five-star read for me is the way Mafi writes their dialogue and inner monologues. It is intense, aching, vulnerable, and honestly kind of devastating in the best way. Every conversation between them feels loaded, and every thought they have about each other just digs the knife in deeper. I loved the tension of Rosabelle being so focused on destroying Klaus and taking down what remains of The Reestablishment, while James becomes the one place where she feels safe enough to breathe. That push and pull was beautiful. And then you have everyone around James warning him away from her, which only adds even more weight to the whole thing. Also, Warner trying to understand Rosabelle when he cannot read her the way he reads everyone else was such an interesting layer. This book gave me emotion, longing, conflict, and a romance I am fully invested in.

Beautiful cover art and sprayed edges. And the book is so good. I missed Warner and was glad to get a few chapters from his pov.
