Tesseron Cognac Composition is one of the newer expressions from the Tesseron house, designed to showcase the estate’s signature elegance and mature blending style in a slightly more contemporary, approachable format. While many Tesseron bottlings lean heavily into long-aged rarity and deep rancio character, Composition focuses more on harmony, texture, and aromatic purity.

The blend pulls primarily from Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, aged in old Limousin oak with a restrained touch that allows the spirit’s fruit and floral character to stay front and center. The nose opens with apricot, candied orange, acacia honey, vanilla bean, toasted almond, and white flowers, layered with subtle hints of tobacco leaf and gentle spice.

On the palate, it’s supple and polished with flavors of baked orchard fruit, citrus marmalade, nougat, cocoa, and soft baking spice. The texture is silky and seamless, carrying enough richness to feel luxurious while maintaining freshness and lift through the finish.

Compared to older Tesseron bottlings like Lot 76 or Lot 90, Composition is less about deep oxidative complexity and more about balance and immediate drinkability. It still carries the house’s refined style and mature character, but in a profile that feels a bit brighter and more open from the first pour.
