Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942) is probably one of the most famous English singer / songwriters of all time. With a career that started in 1957 when he met John Lennon at the age of 15yrs and joined his band The Quarrymen, which later become the 'Beatles'. The Beatles disbanded in 1970 and Paul would go on to form the band 'Wings' with his wife Linda and have further hits such as 'Band on the Run' and the theme from Bond's 'Live and Let Die. Paul continued to have hit records after Wings with collaborations with the likes of Stevie Wonder with 'Ebony and Ivory' becoming his 28th chart No1.  in 1997 he was Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to music, and still continues to perform today nearly 8 decades later.
