WWII German Waffen SS Model 1940 Double Decal Helmet by Quist-This helmet is fresh out of the woodwork and has never been in a collection. It was found by a gentleman in California who was cleaning out a house. It is a textbook example by Quist with Quist SS runic shield and correct color on the Quist party shield. The helmet has some corrosion and a weird substance that is splattered on a few areas of the exterior. The interior is in very good condition, with a size stamped 57 brown leather liner, a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1939 and size stamped 64/57. The side of the interior is stamped Q 64 indicating production by Quist in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 478. There is a mostly intact chinstrap as well. This example was fully vetted by both Kelly Hicks of SS Steel and by myself. A very good example overall and extremely desirable!
