Description:

    • The slogan "This shifts everything" for the Rival eTap AXS puts it in a nutshell: the new entry-level groupset among the electronic road groupsets covers a very wide range of applications. From thoroughbred road bikes to 27.5" gravel bikes with 2.1" wide tires, the Rival AXS is ideally suited. With the proven eTap wireless shifting system, innovative X-Range gear ratio variants and the AXS platform, it offers numerous innovative features for an even better riding experience, despite its simple design.

      Crankset
The Rival DUB 2x crank offers a higher gear range and smaller gear steps at the same time. What at first sounds absurd is made possible by the new X-range gear ratio variants in combination with the Rival 12-speed cassettes. Thanks to the 10-speed cassette sprocket, smaller chainrings are sufficient to achieve the same maximum gear range as with an 11-speed sprocket. The smaller size combined with the unique one-piece design means that the chainrings are both lighter and stiffer. The small difference of only 13 teeth between the chainrings ensures precise and reliable shifting behavior and leads to fewer compensation shifting operations on the rear derailleur. The Rival is visually impressive with its polished, black aluminium crankarms, which are available in lengths from 160 to 175 millimetres. The crankshaft was developed for the new DUB Road bottom bracket standard to ensure a wide range of applications for the crank. The crankshaft is compatible with all standard bottom bracket housings via the corresponding DUB bottom bracket. With the SRAM Rival Quarq AXS Powermeter Kit available in our store, the crank can be upgraded to a power measurement system if required.

Shift brake lever including hydraulic disc brake
With the Rival eTap AXS HRD shift-brake system, you can brake comfortably and in a controlled manner from any position and transmit your shift commands wirelessly. In contrast to the Red AXS and Force AXS shifters, the hoods of the Rival have become significantly flatter and narrower. Not only do they look great, they are also compatible with all hand sizes. The textured shift paddles and rubber grips are also new for even more control and comfort. The grip width adjustment on the brake lever ensures the best possible ergonomics, while the integration of the Rival into the AXS platform offers you the option of adapting the shifters to your personal preferences, evaluating your shifting behaviour or updating the firmware via the associated smartphone app. In addition to the freely selectable assignment of the shift buttons, the derailleur can also be operated in semi-automatic mode, in which the rear derailleur and front derailleur synchronize automatically and you only have to choose between a lighter and heavier gear. However, there are no ports for additional shifters (blips), as found on the Red/Force AXS units, on the Rival AXS shifters. The two-piece brake caliper, based on the award-winning HydroHC platform, is beyond reproach in terms of braking performance and heat management.

Paceline brake discs | Center Lock
The new Paceline brake rotors take up the elegant design of the eTap AXS Road groupsets. They have a redesigned braking surface with equally redesigned ventilation holes for even smoother and lower-vibration braking performance. The rounded edges on the top of the rotor minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI cycling world federation. A further advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, as the rounded top prevents jamming in the brake calliper.

      Rear derailleur
The Rival eTap AXS rear derailleur ensures fast and reliable shifting in all conditions. Rear derailleur pulleys with X-Sync Narrow-Wide tooth profile keep the chain in place, even in single-speed use. The medium-length cage is compatible with cassettes from 10-28 teeth to 10-36 teeth and covers an extremely wide range of applications. In contrast to the high-end Red AXS and Force AXS rear derailleurs, the Rival AXS uses a simple spring clutch instead of the Orbit fluid damper

      Front derailleur
The SRAM Rival eTap front derailleur has been developed for the 2x X-Range chainring gradations of the eTap AXS groupset. Equipped with the proven SRAM Yaw technology, it is no longer necessary to trim the front derailleur. The shifting force is automatically regulated by the eTap AXS shifter over the entire shifting range. With the integration of AXS technology, the shifting behaviour of the front derailleur can be personalized via the associated app.

      Cassette
Proven in the mountain bike sector for years, the 10-speed sprocket is now also finding its way onto road bikes. This is made possible by the SRAM XDR freewheel standard. The advantages are obvious: the cassette has become even lighter with the same bandwidth. In addition, weight can be saved on the crank, as smaller chainrings are required for the same maximum gear range as with an 11-speed sprocket. SRAM has upgraded the Rival cassette to 12-speed so that the gear steps remain small without having to sacrifice bandwidth. The additional 12th sprocket significantly extends the range of use of the cassette in combination with the eTap AXS 1-speed groupset. A nickel-chrome coating ensures fast and quiet shifting. The individual sprockets are connected to each other via high-strength, stainless steel pins. The open design of the full-pin construction ensures that the cassette cleans itself very well in adverse external conditions

      Chain
Introduced with the SRAM RED and Force eTap AXS groupsets, the Rival chain was also designed according to the elegant and innovative flattop design. The shape of the plates allows the chain to be made narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer plates and the sprockets leads to smoother chain running and more precise shifting. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain is also increased. Nickel-coated outer and inner plates and hard chrome treatment of the rivet pins also ensure a longer service life.

      Charger/batteries
The integrated batteries on the rear derailleur and front derailleur have a range of over 1000 kilometers. The charge status can be read at any time via LED lights. The batteries for the rear derailleur and front derailleur are identical and can therefore be replaced on the move. The batteries are recharged within an hour using the charger supplied.

If they can't fix it they will replace it.
This protection plan that i pay monthly for paid for itself ten fold. My 3D printer just quit working and after the manufacturer warrenty had ran out at that. I submitted my claim they emailed me a shipping label in which I shipped out my printer that same day. Two days later they received my printer determined it couldc not be fixed and sent me a Amazon gift card for the full price of my printer. Today I will be receiving my new 3d printer thanks to Complete Protect. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to purchase this policy. This warrenty is like having a home warrenty like Homeshield but for your electronics and probably other stuff that i just have not read to see what else. This insurance will save me so much money over the corse of this year and every year after that. Thank you Complete Protect.

Don't waste your money - these people will not help you
On March 9th 2024, I purchased a MCombo Lift Chair costing $785. On the same day, through the same Amazon account (my PERSONAL account since I also have a business account), I purchased an Asurion Complete Protect policy at the cost of $16.99 per month plus taxes. About one month ago, a problem arose with the chair that required me to make a claim using the "Complete Protect" policy that I had purchased for that very item. The claim was initiated on January 1st, 2025 - On January 3rd, I received an email asking me for photographs showing the damage for which I was making a claim. I sent those photographs via email to the address provided on January 6th. On January 27th, having not received ANY response from Asurion, I contacted them via phone and was told that my purchase had been made with a business account, that it was being used for business purposes, and was therefore not covered. I assured the Asurion Representative that it was most certainly not a business use, and that the chair that I was claiming for had been purchased because I had extensive shoulder surgery done that made it impossible to get in and out of bed. After speaking (unsuccessfully) with the Asurion Rep, I then contacted Amazon Customer Service. I spoke with an Amazon Customer Service Representative on the phone who confirmed that I had in fact used my personal account to purchase the chair and the Asurion Complete Protect policy. That representative went on to send a message to Asurion on my behalf confirming that the purchase was for personal use and not business use. Asurion responded, asking me to call them with the order number for the Asurion purchase. The number I gave was the exact same order number on my order history, however, the Asurion Rep could not find it. I was finally able to discover that the order number in Asurion's system was entirely different and isn't even in the same format as an Amazon order number. Upon the Asurion representative finding my plan, she informed me that the chair was listed as being purchased for business use (despite Amazon confirming that it was NOT) but that I should give them "a couple of business days" to resolve the issue. Five business days later, still no response and so I called them again (Yesterday - February 1st 2025)... Lo and behold, I got the same crap yet again... the purchase was listed as business use and was therefore being denied, but she promised to remove the business use commentary and put the claim through again. Today, February 2nd, I called Amazon yet again to escalate and had to call THREE times because the first two calls resulted in me finally being connected to an Asurion representative (two different reps) and each time, the Asurion representative hung up the phone as soon as my name was mentioned. It has become clear to me that the Asurion "Complete Protect" policy is a SCAM - they will NOT take care of your issue, regardless of how long you've been paying. I have been paying every month since March 9th last year - so they've received over $170 from me thus far, with zero other claims, and if I am able to cancel right now, I will only receive $16.99 back. All I want, is the chair that I purchased the policy for coverage of, to be repaired or replaced. Asurion are NOT helping, and are actively avoiding contact. At this point, I am considering legal action against Asurion for fraud - perhaps even a Class Action. I'll wait and see if my issue gets resolved within the next 10 days or so.

Simple and hassle free claims process
I have had to use my insurance policy for several items and the process was simple and hassle free. I mainly purchased this policy / subscription because of one very expensive item I bought with a likelihood off electronic or mechanical malfunction at some point and wanted it covered but I have used it for several other lower priced items that had failed on me. This type of policy would be great for household who purchases a lot of electronics which really isn't me. But The process almost couldn't be easier.

Asurion is AWESOME!
Ok, so let me start with the fact that you should NOT waste your time calling Amazon's customer service if you think you have a claim under Asurion's monthly protection plan. CALL ASURION! I wasted almost an hour with Amazon representatives that have absolutely no training in how the Asurion plan works, or even any idea if my item was covered. In fact, they told me the mechanized chair I purchased under the plan wasn't covered! Finally, my call got escalated to a manager who was just as clueless about my coverage, but had the best idea ever... call Asurion! The smartest thing I did that morning was hang up with Amazon, and reach out to Asurion as I should have done in the first place. Dealing with Asurion's customer service, after my Amazon call, was like being elevated to VIP status! 😄 Asurion's rep nicely took all my info, including the chair's purchase date and order number. Then they asked that I upload a couple of pictures of the product, along with a written description of the malfunction I had mentioned over the phone. This is where it gets really good. They told me they'd review the claim to determine if they'd send a repair specialist or reimburse me the cost of the item. In less than 48 hours, they determined that a payout was in order, and sent me an email that included an Amazon gift card for the total cost of the item minus the taxes I had paid, which I loaded directly into my Amazon wallet. Apparently, Asurion does not include the purchase taxes in their coverage. But, I can live with that. All in all, Asurion's claims division get a double thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽, and the company gets big ups from me for not only standing behind their protection plan, but doing so expeditiously! Special note: If you buy a lot of stuff from Amazon, and have Asurion's monthly protection plan, scroll the item listing before pulling the trigger on your purchase... you need to see the green streamer that indicates your product is protected by the plan. If you don't see that, check to see if there are alternative products that might be covered. There are very few electronic or high ticket items that aren't covered, but looking for that green banner in the item description that says it's covered is key to foregoing any future headaches.

Glad to have Asurion Protection Plan!!! So easy to file a claim and get refunded!!!
I bought my ongoing protection plan about six months ago and had not used it for anything. About the same time, I purchased a small fountain for our front porch. A few weeks ago, the pump stopped working and I did everything I could think of to fix the pump, first check to see if the electrical outlet it had been plugged into still worked and it did. I then poured out all the water, added fresh water, then opened the pump to wash it out and remove any debris it had inside. There was none, and of course by now, the manufacturer's return date ended about four months ago. I was very nervous to submit a claim -- I was afraid I would get rejected, that I would have to pack up and return, or that I would be given 20 questions or more and provide mountains of paperwork to submit the claim. But it was surprisingly simple and easy, the person from Asurion was friendly and did her job incredibly well, my claim was created in their system in less than five minutes and I received a total refund minus the tax (turns out online retailer is not allowed to refund the tax because it was already paid to local and state governments. The cost of the fountain minus the tax was still about $165, which allowed me to upgrade to a much better water pump that had a higher output and also has something called "Burn Protection," ie overheating if the water level gets too low or if the pump gets plugged with debris. The total cost of the new pump was about $25 and has all kinds of amazing features as compared to the small fountain that didn't even have burn protection. I installed the new pump and it's working far better than the one that came with the fountain. Bottom line: I am so glad that I purchased the monthly protection plan from Asurion, and told my family how please I had it. They previously told me it was a waste of money and time because they wouldn't honor the claim. but they did, and I am so elated!
