De Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Standard All Ebony Murphy Lab Light Aged is de reissue van een van de meest iconische gitaren die Gibson ooit heeft gemaakt: de "Black Beauty". De All Ebony finish, de meerdere lagen binding en de gouden hardware geven de gitaar een elegantie die tijdloos is, terwijl de Murphy Lab Light Aged behandeling zorgt voor de subtiele patina van een goed onderhouden vintage instrument. Subtiele checking in de nitrolak, licht gepatineerde hardware en een speelgevoel dat direct vertrouwd aanvoelt.
De massief mahonie body zonder weight relief zorgt voor een krachtige, volle klank met veel sustain. De mahonie hals met 50s Rounded Medium C-profiel biedt een stevige maar comfortabele grip, terwijl de rosewood toets met parelmoer trapezoid inlays de luxe uitstraling completeert die zo kenmerkend is voor de Les Paul Custom. De twee Custombucker Alnico III humbuckers zijn ontworpen om de warme, complexe toon van originele PAF-pickups uit de jaren vijftig te benaderen: van ronde jazztonen tot krachtige blues en rock.
