The Mind - Card Game

The Mind transcends conventional gaming; it's an intriguing experiment, a voyage, a collaborative endeavor where information exchange is forbidden, yet players must unite to conquer the game's various levels. In essence, the deck comprises cards numbered from 1 to 100, and in the course of the game, your goal is to overcome 12, 10, or 8 levels of play, depending on whether you have 2, 3, or 4 players. Each player, in a given level, receives a hand of cards corresponding to that level's number (e.g., one card for level 1, two cards for level 2, and so on). Collectively, the objective is to play these cards onto a shared discard pile, arranging them in ascending order. However, here's the catch - players are strictly prohibited from communicating with one another about the cards they hold. Instead, you engage in a silent exchange of gazes, and when the timing feels right, you play your lowest card. If nobody else possesses a card lower than the one you just played, the game continues smoothly. But if someone does, all players must openly discard any cards lower than the one you played, and you collectively lose one life. The number of lives you start with equals the number of players. Losing all your lives spells game over.

To spice things up, each player starts with a shuriken, and if all players decide to use it, everyone reveals their lowest card, providing crucial information and bringing you closer to level completion. As you successfully clear levels, you may be rewarded with additional shurikens or extra lives. If you manage to conquer all the levels, victory is yours!

For a heightened challenge, you can take on The Mind in extreme mode, where all played cards are stacked face down. You don't peek at these cards until the end of a level, and you lose lives for any cards played out of order at that time.
