The Maxon RCP660 Real Compressor is a tube-driven compression pedal that delivers natural, studio-quality compression with minimal tone coloration, suitable for both guitar and bass applications. Its control set includes Master for output volume, Sensitivity to adjust the input level at which compression activates, Attack to shape the pick attack intensity, and Sustain to control the compression's duration and intensity. Additionally, the RCP660 features a foot-switchable Boost function, offering an extra 13dB of gain for seamless transitions between rhythm and lead playing or for use as a clean boost. The pedal's design incorporates a real vacuum tube, contributing to its warm and dynamic response. Notably, the RCP660 is virtually identical to the Ibanez Tube King compressor, sharing the same circuit design and tonal characteristics.

  • This is a used unit. 
  • This unit is in great condition. It shows some minor signs of wear from use and age. Nothing major. Please see photos. 

  • This pedal will ship with its OG box. The instructions / pamphlets in the box are in Japanese. 

  • This unit has been thoroughly tested. We can confirm it is 100% functional. All controls work as they should. 

  • This pedal can be powered off a 10V DC Negative Centre power supply. This power supply will be included for Australian and New Zealand buyers.

  • This sale is for the pedal & PSU (AU & NZ only). Nothing else is included in this sale.

This is one of the good ones. There are other brands just as good, and manny brands are worse, but this handles well, rolls down easily, doesn't come off at all easily, and adapts to dips and curves like a champ. Appropriately heavy and dead, I'm happy with the way it smothers panel resonances and even at muffling direct sound, like a big hand over my Uncle Harry's eternally noisy mouth. You can rip the foil but you have to work hard at doing that. Remember to buy a brayer; you can roll overlaps nice and thin. Also remember to pre-wipe the sheet metal with a decent solvent like acetone or Stoddard/Varsol. It should last forever.
