Maximum Splitting Force for Tough Hardwoods

Make quick work of your winter firewood stack with the Ludell 11604 4 lb. Log Splitting Wedge. Engineered for the outdoor enthusiast and professional gardener alike, this heavy-duty tool is crafted from premium drop-forged steel, heat-treated to withstand the immense impact of sledgehammers and mauls. Its substantial 4-pound weight provides the kinetic energy needed to drive deep into knotty pine, oak, and maple, forcing the wood apart with fewer strikes than lighter alternatives.

Designed for efficiency and safety, the wedge features a precision-honed cutting edge that bites easily into the log, holding its position for the driving strike. The tapered body expands the wood grain outward, effectively splitting large rounds that a standard axe simply bounces off of. Whether you are clearing a campsite, managing a property, or stocking up the wood stove for the season, the Ludell splitting wedge is the reliable companion you need for heavy-duty timber processing.

Key Features

  • Premium Construction: Made from high-grade drop-forged steel for superior durability and resistance to mushrooming.
  • Optimal Weight: 4 lb design delivers the perfect balance of striking force and maneuverability.
  • Honed Edge: Sharp, precision-ground cutting edge ensures easy initial bite into log rounds.
  • Heat Treated: Hardened steel withstands repetitive heavy striking without chipping or cracking.
  • Efficient Shape: Tapered wedge geometry maximizes expansion force to split tough, knotted wood.
  • Rust Resistant: Protective finish helps prevent corrosion during outdoor storage.
  • Versatile Use: Ideal for campers, hunters, hikers, and home gardening applications.

Pro-Tip: To split extremely large or knotty rounds, do not rely on a single center strike. Instead, use the "pie slice" method: start your wedge near the outer edge of the log (parallel to a crack if visible) to peel off smaller sections first. This reduces the friction on the wedge and prevents it from getting stuck deep in the center of the log.

Great Snack
Flavor Name: Banana, Size: 1 Count (Pack of 12)
Being a diabetic, sometimes it’s hard to find snacks that are great tasting and healthy. I love these That’s It bars because they are low in calories and decent in sugar and I can put them in my bag and be on my way.

Worst Snack ever!
Flavor Name: Banana, Size: 1 Count (Pack of 12)
Worst Snack Ever! I really wanted to like this product..but it is very much NOT what was described. Opened it and wife asked "why does it smell like pooh?" and it even kinda looks like animal pooh, too. I tasted it and chewed a few bites. Not what I expected. It did not taste good. It tastes like dried rotten fruit smells(having never eaten dried rotten fruit before.) It's certainly unique and may be an "acquired" taste, just not one I wish to acquire. It was well-packaged individually, but the box was completely destroyed by the Post Office. Oh, and lastly, having eaten just a couple of bites, it gave me one of the worst cases of acid indigestion I have ever had. It actually hurt in stomach the next day. All in all, one of the worst food experiences I have ever had. Stomachs: BEWARE!
