This Alastair Gibson and Carbon Art 45 sculpture shows the iconic livery of the 1969 championship winning Matra MS80-02 with Sir Jackie Stewart.

This sculpture captures the aggressive look and the hydrodynamic shape of the Red Bellied Piranha originally commissioned by Rubens Barrichello in 2007.

Selected parts and materials used in this sculpture are from modern Grand Prix cars as listed below.

Sculpture limited to eight pieces and two artist proofs.

Body: Carbon fibre, 3 plies/layers 2 x 2 twill 200 gsm material gives a total thickness of 2.4mm with painted detail and UV resistant clear gloss coating.

Livery:Painted and Summacut vinyl design with printed stickers.

Dorsal and Underside fins:0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel coated silver.

Tail and Pectoral fins:0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel coated silver with countersunk aero fixing

Nostrils:Captive nuts 041 D3 005 used to secure aerodynamic brake ducts.

Teeth and throat:0.4 mm Titanium with gearbox filter gauze effect.

Eyes:M8 domed polished titanium bolt with “diamond insert”.

Gills and detail:Rear wing adjustment lozenge from a modern Formula One Grand Prix car and photo etched 0.2mm stainless steel detail.

Mounting base and rod: Section of FIA legality perma-glass underfloor plank from the Sahara Force India F1 Team part no. 13 J23 02101A used at the 2013 Austrian GP, Sergio Pérez with Aluminium covering to show 1960’s under chassis tub wear and front suspension torsion bar from the Williams F1 GP team part no. 1037 L10 RH.

Mounting methods: Desk mounted.
