Feeding these omnivores is a delight, as they eagerly accept a varied diet comprising quality flakes, pellets, and live/frozen foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp.
Their compatibility extends to various tank mates, including tetras, peaceful cichlids, and catfish. While they may exhibit slight territorial behavior, their overall temperament remains mild in a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding spots.
Ideal for intermediate aquarists, their care requires attention to water quality—aim for pH levels between 6.5-7.5, temperatures around 72-78°F (22-26°C), and a moderate water flow.
