Rustic, slightly hairy feel with well defined twist structure, gentle hand wash at less than 30deg. Made using NZ high country wool, with estimated micron count of 30 32. It is milled by Skeinz of NZ and they market it under the Southlander DK brand name. Also the same base as Truly Myrtle DK yarn. Best suited to adult's outer

RUSTIC DK wool yarn - approx 100g and 200m

Colourway: Greywacke - medium to dark grey semi-solid 

100% wool yarn DK/8ply weight. Rustic, slightly hairy feel with well-defined twist structure, gentle hand wash at less than 30deg. Made using NZ high-country wool, with estimated micron count of 30-32.It is milled by Skeinz of NZ and they market it under the Southlander DK brand name. Also the same base as Truly Myrtle DK yarn. Best suited to adult's outer-wear, but still soft enough to be worn against the skin if you are not highly sensitive. Suit thick cosy garments or blankets and throws. 

Needle size recommended 4.0-5.0mm

My dog has a habit of tearing up toys in just a few minutes, so far, this toy has lasted a few days, the rope is already showing signs of wear. I wish there was a way to attach a new rope when this one goes... She is a mid-sized dog with a LOT of energy, and she's very destructive, digging, chewing on things she's not supposed to, etc. This helps with that, she can play with it for a long time, we don't have to always 'check' to see if she is tearing something up. She loves grabbing it by the rope and swinging it around the sides of her head, it doesn't hurt her, and she LOVES this toy. Out of ALL of the toys that we have bought her, and that she loved, THIS ONE has been top dog to her. We love watching her play with it, it also wears her out and she'll then take a nap, which is always good. Oh yeah, the size if PERFECT for a mid-sized to a large dog, I'm not sure about any smaller dogs. She can squeak the squeaker on it fine too, but not at first, she had to 'find out' how to do it on her own. As far as chewing it into little pieces like one person has said, I can't attest to that, and I hope that is not the case. I will return if she does end up chewing it into pieces, because she in known far and wide for that! :)

My large adult dog who is an aggressive chewer got this toy in pieces within minutes, BUT this is a great toy for a lighter touched dog. When I got my newest addition (Malinois mix puppy. Pls thoughts and prayers for me), this toy came to mind because she loves chewing and she’s only 11 weeks old! She needed an interesting toy that is sturdy and won’t hurt her teeth or gums, but is still interesting (the rope piece and the squeaker). She’s not nearly as rough of a chewer as my older guy YET. But when she gets bigger, she will more than likely destroy this. She is almost 20lbs at 11 weeks right now, so I will update if she does destroy it. Long story short: Not good for large aggressive chewers, good for aggressive chewers on the smaller side (maybe 15-30lbs)
